I havehad this for a bit now , moved to 5gb internet and 10 gb NICs in my servers nd PCs . It works great with ipref3 getting right close to 10gb on my machine . Its just a simple switch , but the price is greta and it works awesome.

I took the advice of Oland's review and replaced the fans. The stock fan wasn't really that noisy (in fact, it might have been quieter), but I believe these fans will provide greater longevity and better reliability when ambient temps go up as they move more air, even with Noctua's ultra-low noise adapter in place.So far so good. Solid unmanaged 10G switch for an unbeatable price. 4/5 stars as they could have saved me the trouble and added expense by slotting 2 fans at the factory.

Got two of these so that I could take the 10G LAN connection from the ASUS GT-AXE16000 and split the traffic between downstairs and upstairs, as well as support a 10G NAS (DXP4800 Plus) that's next on the list. Existing cables got full link speed, so wifi backhaul just went 1G->2.5G. Unlike other reports I have not heard any noticeable fan noise, but only two ports on each switch are running at 10G at the moment.

This switch is a joke... not worth the money, and the money you think you're saving you definitely aren't, just buy a reputable brand. I travel a ton for work, bought this cause it seemed like a good deal and for a few months just wasn't home enough using my local network to notice any issues. Over the last month, I've been home a bunch and have been chasing speed issues across my network that I finally isolated to this switch tonight after having enough time to properly diagnose.After it's been running for awhile, it chokes down all the ports to 100mbps speeds despite showing that it's connected at 2.5gbps. Reboot the switch or just disconnect everything for a few minutes and reconnect and it comes back up, but still not at 2.5gbps actual speed, only 1gbps despite showing connection at 2.5gbps. Connected my laptop directly to my router, pulling downstream and upstream speeds from speedtest.net at 2.39gbps down and 2.21gbps upstream... connect to this switch and I get 998mbps up and down. Left everything hooked up for a couple hours while working on other systems and come back to my laptop to try again, and it's getting 99.6mbps up and down. Rebooted switch, reconnected... back to 998mbps up and down. Switch connection to the router, still getting in the 2.3/2.2gbps down/up... back to the switch, 998mbps. Thought I'd try the SFP port and see if I had any better luck there, and the switch won't even recognize any SFP's, tried Finisar and Cisco, copper, 1gb fiber and 10gb fiber from each company and none of the 6 are even recognized. If it would even reliably stay at 1gbps it would at least be useful, but that it drops to 100mbps after awhile makes it completely worthless... so this POS is going in the trash and I'm out $100 or whatever I paid for it that seemed like a bargain at the time.

The product - NICGIGA S100-0800T - has a compact metal chassis that feels solid and well-constructed. It's rack-mountable but also sits comfortably on a shelf ( my case ) . Despite of some reviews complaining on the fan noise being loud I was - pleasantly - surprised with the " noise " created by the fan . Is audible but, honestly, is not loud at all.This model is an unmanaged switch, so there’s no web GUI or configuration needed — plug and play. For me is ideal : just wanted to upgrade bandwidth without dealing with VLANs or network tuning...and of course ... possibility to have access ( home network LAN ) to more than two 10G ports .Being a plug-n-play device I didn't notice any issues : just plug the Lan cable and it get connected ! Running the transfer ( NAS --> Desktop ) using the switch the speed is pretty decent : 290-320 MB /s ( see picture ) vs 100-120 MB/s when using the standard 1Gbe router port ... but this is obvious !Overall : a good product - I am using it since four weeks now - encountering ZERO issues so far !Talking about the price ... well ... this is a different story here : I have purchased this product at a price of 278 Euro which is - at least in my view - still high but close to the correct value for the money.To summarize :I do recommend it for someone who needs multiple 10 GB ports ( my case ).

It’s doing what it says it does, I’m getting 10G to my devices that have it. The fan isn’t really that loud at all on my unit.

Switch was easy to install and set up.Great value purchased at £223.98 in prime day sale.I was concerned the built in fan would be noisy, but it turned out that it was inaudible. I have it sitting in my Livingroom behind the TV.

Ottimo switch 10 Gb non gestito, veloce e stabile.Ho connesso tutte e 8 le porte con connessioni miste, 4x10Gb, 2x2,5Gb e 2x1Gb e non fa una piega, l'autonegoziazione funziona perfettamente.L'unico neo è nella ventola, decisamente troppo troppo troppo rumorosa. Sembra un elicottero sempre ai massimi giri.Ma io ho risolto cambiando la ventola con una Noctua NF-A4x20 FLX con relativo cavo Noctua per abbassare i giri al minimo (vedi foto).Lo Switch rimane ad ottime temperature anche sotto sforzo e praticamente non si sente più nulla.Notare che ho montato la ventola che butta aria sulla scheda dello switch, piuttosto che estrarre l'aria calda. Da mie prove effettuate anche su altri dispositivi questa è la migliore combinazione per un ottimo raffreddamento.
