Purchased this for my Kohler Command 15Hp in a Cub Cadet AGS 2150 riding mower. The part fit perfectly—two things:Clean the flywheel—where the magnets (magnetos) are. Mine has years of grease and dirt buildup.when installing the ignition module, use a business card as a spacer (to gap) over the magnetos.

Appears to be right, just waiting to reinstall it on my saw mill to see if it works as the mice like to chew the coil wire.

I read many reviews about after-market coils. I would estimate about 95% or more function well so you are simply a "good" chance. However, nearly every brand I studies will exhibit a "no ground" problem. I literally tore my engine apart trying to figure out why it will not shut down. Discovered if you simply attach the ground wire to solid metal the coil should ground and kill the spark. If not, the coil must be bad. I was unlucky and received a bad coil. Decided to return it and ordered the original Kohler coil where I saw NO complaints. But it is 2 weeks out yet. Will review that one as well. I am literally guessing that a higher quality coil could produce a better spark. Copper is expensive so where would be the first place to skimp. Keep in mind, the coil is a very important component. Don't skimp. FYI, I was a Kohler Design Engineer for several years. Enjoy fixing small engines. Thanks.

I recently replaced the ignition coil in my Kohler lawn mower engine using the specified model (12 584 04-S), and it worked perfectly. This coil is compatible with various Kohler models, including CV11, CV12.5, CV13, CV14, CV15, CV430, and CV460. The replacement process was straightforward, and the new coil got my mower running like new again. If you're facing starting issues with your Kohler engine, this ignition coil is a dependable choice for getting your equipment back to optimal performance. It's always great when a fix is as simple and effective as this one!

Purchased ignition coil after confirming no spark to plug in our Craftsman riding lawnmower. New one arrived quickly, was good quality and was easy to replace. Engine started on first attempt after installation. Met all expectations and would recommend.

This coil doesn't list as working to replace the smartspark/DSAI ignition but I bought it on a hunch and it bolted on and works great. The engine is a CV16S, ca. early 90's originally a smart-spark unit.I removed the old module, made a jumper for the kill switch (white) wire by cutting the old one off the old module and crimping a new terminal on it, and capped off the 12v (red) wire to the powered module. The bolt hole-to-flywheel spacing is a bit shorter on this coil, so the air gap is huge. you could elongate the mounting holes with a grinder if you wanted to, but on my engine the air gap is 3mm or so and still works perfect.DSAI replacement is over $120, this fixed an old lawnmower for less than 20 bucks, about 4 hours run time on it so far, appears to be working fine. Timing might not be dead on to what it was originally but seems to have the same power and not overheating, starts just as easily, all in all appears to be a totally workable fix.
