Good Quality pack of Pastry brushes including straight and slightly angled endsThe bristles are dense and fine enough to bend nicely and to carry quite a lot of egg, sauce or molten butter etc.The sales page promises a wide temperature range but I couldn't find a specific statement on cleaning in a dishwasher.The bristle part seems very tough so I guess the wood will survive too. I'll test it and see !Nice quality items at a good price

In addition to using them in my pastry baking I use these type of brushes for so many things around the kitchen. Therefore, having a large number and variety of brushes is a necessity. My biggest use outside of pastry is basting meat with various oils and sauces. Once I use a brush for any type of meat and/or sauce I do not want to use it for pastry (even though I clean them very thoroughly) since I believe you can never get in and clean (to my satisfaction) where the brush meets the handle. Thus, you never know when something could leach out and accidently flavor the pastry. What I like about these brushes is the heavy wooden handle and the texture of the brushes themselves. I have some with brushes with plastic handles and plastic bristles and not only do they not baste evenly but over time the bristles are no longer evenly spaced. I have almost exact duplicates of these brushes and they are over 10 years old. Additionally, having the two sizes mean I can pick the brush that best does the job.
