I have been using these "Florida style" soft plastic nets for years. This is the smaller size. There is a larger (11" x 11" x 12") size. Both are best used together in opposition with target fish in the middle. You need to go after bottom dwelling territorial species around rocks and ledges. Once inside, twist the handle to collapse the opening. I have made one modification. A large mouth (4") plastic jar with flat plastic lid. Hole saw cuts 3.75" out of the center and a large hose clamp fits the lid to the side of the plastic net. cut another lid, but glue a plastic screen to cover the hole. Cut the soft plastic side of the net open, then screw on the jar. Now fish and delegate shrimp can be teased in the jar. Collapse the side of the net to cover the opening of the jar. Unscrew the jar with the captured fish while sliding the screen-lid jar over the jar with the captured fish. All done while underwater. Pop the fish jar into a lobster bag, where you get another empty jar. Screw new jar onto bag and go capture another fish. Happened to just come home with some juvenile Spadefish to show in the capture jar. Note green screen net in lid.

The plastic “net” is made well. Really well for a net. Solid frame and material is well made. However it’s terrible for catching any fish. Any one that gets close immediately feels the sides and swims out.
