Don't waste your time. I bought 3 of these to try and control my daughter's lights in her bedroom and not a single one work. Alexa found the device but the device wouldn't power on or off much less set up a routine.

Ohne Amazon Eco nicht zu gebrauchen. So wie im Artikel beschrieben das es auch Manuell geht ist nicht korrekt. Ohne zusätzliche Apps oder Amazon Eco ist das unbrauchbar. Schade das mann es nicht einfach manuell ein und ausschalten kann . Hab mein ganzen Nachmittag ruiniert um das Ding irgendwie zum laufen zu bringen ( keine Schanze) Ist dann auch im MÜLL gelandet

Interesting concept being able to connect to Alexa to control on and off switching of USB devices. You can also switch attached devices manually with the on board button.

I was actually looking for a smart USB power block that had the typical AC 3-prong plug. For some reason, that doesn't seem to exist. However, this seemed like it would accomplish the same thing (as long as I had a USB outlet). I read some reviews taking about the difficulty they had with setting it up and figured I should buy the two-pack in case there are issues. I had the first one plugged in and hooked up to my Alexa device in less than 5 minutes. It was quite easy and works great. I'm not sure if the bad reviews are from defective units or operator error, but I'm very happy with mine. Full disclosure: I just received it today, so I can't speak for longevity, but since I purchased the two-pack, I have a spare and I feel confident I can swap it out quickly if needed. I would recommend this to anyone who has a need similar to mine.

Seems to be working well, once I eventually got it connected, and thanks to the other reviewers who mentioned connecting it directly through the Alexa app rather than an Echo.Here’s what I did: opened Alexa app; Devices; + (top right); ‘Add device’; ‘Plug’; ‘Other’; ‘Bluetooth’; make sure light is flashing on plug (hold on/off button for 5 seconds); ‘Discover devices’.The app found the plug and I was able to rename and set up my routines for it.4 four stars due to the fact that trying to connect via my Echo (and per the instructions) only found the plug with the Alexa app then just telling me the device was unresponsive. I was about to return it when I read the other reviews saying to connect directly through the app, which was also far easier.Follow the steps above and hopefully it will be easier for you too.

The good news is this device does not require a new proprietary app or hub - it connects directly to Alexa. However, it took me about 30 minutes to get it to connect to Alexa. I did not try to link to a specific Echo - that's not necessary. We have about 20 Echo devices in our house, so I just "discovered" it through the Alexa app. Alexa could not find it until I tried finding "other" devices and tried looking for a WiFi device. After a couple of attempts, it finally connected and was registered as "Second Plug" under devices. It is now controllable from any Alexa device in our home (I tried 3 different devices).I'm using this device with a USB power bank and a small USB aquarium pump to circulate water in a single-plant hydroponic set up. I created a routing that turns-on the device the first time at 7am for 5 minutes, waits 55 minutes then repeats the process 11 more times to cover 12 hours. I then duplicated that routine (to save time typing the repetitive steps) as a new routine that starts at 8pm and runs until 6am, then the first routine automatically kicks in at 7am and keep the pump cycling on for 5 minutes every hour.So far this little device is working great. I took off one star off because 1: the instructions say look for a blue light. There is no blue light, only a green light, 2. the instructions imply you have to connect directly to an Alexa speaker. I don't even know how one wold do that., 3. It is a little tricky to get it to be discovered by Alexa. That said, once you get it connected, it works great.

Please stop making instruction pamphlets text so small you can’t read the instructions without having to use something to enlarge what needs to be read. It was cheap and came quick in the mail. Plugged it and it seems to work fine.

Plugged in, found immediately by the Alexa app and now it just works. Only been using it for a few days, but it seems ideal for what I needed.
