I like the informative display of this unit. It is clear, sharp, easy to read, informative. I like the plastic housing on it instead of it just being a circuit board which it is underneath the plastic case. However, it is not weather or waterproof which limits its usage if not put within another protective outdoor weatherproof encasement. The wire connectors are screw down type that best lends itself to bare wire solder tinned of hook connectors. And it reads / senses several types of batteries being charged and then displays that info. And it also has a nice quick glance battery charge level indicator of 25%, 50%, 75%, 100% next to the digital LCD. Mostly it is preprogramed to handle the different type batteries and charge profiles making it an intelligent Solar Charge Controller. And all that at an affordable price. Pretty good.

I got the LNEX 10 amp Solar Charge Controller to keep my battery powered fencer charged. My setup doesn't come close to taxing this controller. I have an old 100 watt HF panel and a single 12 volt lead acid battery. I wired up the connections and turned it on. It recognized the battery properly and started charging. I didn't have to change any of the settings. I do have it in a weather tight box as it's not weather proof. I was checking on it several times a day just to be sure it was working. I hadn't checked on it for a week until this morning and everything was fine. My multi-meter showed the battery was fully charged, the fence was hot, and all the cows are in. Hook up was so simple an old farmer can do it ;)

This solar charge controller correctly selected AGM when i connected it to an old AGM marine battery. The display immediately powered up, and it's a nice display that shows everything you need to know. I connected a Sharp 175W solar panel to the input and it started charging at 0.5A (early in the morning). For kicks, I disconnected the AGM battery and replaced it with an LFP battery. It did not switch battery type to LFP. I was able to manually select AGM with the button, but then had to do that again when I reconnected the AGM battery. It seems to pick once and then stays with that. The variety of battery chemistries it supports is amazing - the most I've seen for any charging device.Several issues with this. To start, it took me a little while to put this into service because I had to make up my own cables. The terminals are nice, though, because they can be used with bare wire ends without mashing and twisting them up as you tighten them down. A second issue is that this is not weatherproof, limiting where you can use it. An IP67 or IP68 rating would be more appropriate for something that's going to be connected to a solar panel outside. Last issues for now is that you cannot use blue ring terminals with the screw down terminals - they are too wide. I was able to clip the sides and fit them to the battery output terminals to connect battery clamps to the output.

I am using this as a maintainer for some large Lead Acid batteries, they are a bit dead and the system I have setup will take some time to charge them but should keep them charged when done. The charge controller is very intuitive and easy to configure to match the battery type you have connected. The display indicates the battery voltage and that it is being charged as indicated by the spinning pie chart. I do have one thing that would like changed. The lugs are accessed from the back only, so I had to remove it from being mounted to make a change of the wires from the larger solar panel. I have a 100-watt panel connected to this. The panel can produce almost 6 amps. (According to the label) This is almost the max this controller is designed for. It should handle 2 100 watts panels but that might be pushing the limit on a bright direct sunlight day. I think I will be getting the 30A version also.

The solar charger works properly, correctly charges an lfp battery, seems entirely as described. I took off a star because I don't in general like pwm charge controllers as much as MPPT chargers -- MPPT operates more efficiently, though. Pwm is usually cheaper, and that's reflected in the cost of this unit versus others. So perfectly fine as long as you don't need maximum efficiency.

I got this to use with my 100W solar panel. It works to control the charge for my 12V LiFePO4 batteries. It is a simple 12/24V 10A PWM charge controller.ProsIt's easy to change the battery type setting for charging. The backlit display is easy to read in dark conditions.ConsIt doesn't have a USB load output to easily charge your USB devices.Overall, I'm happy with it. I use ring terminal connectors to connect the wires to the charge controller for a better connection. Be sure to connect the unit to the battery first before connecting to the solar panel.
