I have been doing DIY all my life. I want a strong like for an outside clothesline I can put between my mesquite trees. The cable and rollers are excellent, but the carabiners are junk. The are too lightweight for the line. As a matter of fact I would consider them too light for a key ring. The set is still well worth the cost. For what I wanted to do it was easy to unwind and string between two tree trunks. Because it comes with its own loops on the ends as well as decent hooks this should be easy for anyone of any experience level to install. As a disabled female I found it easy to hang and use. I quickly had a fully functional clothesline.

This VIVBOO 40ft Clothes Line Outdoors 3/16" Wire Ropes Silver PVC Coating Laundry Drying Clothesline Retractor with Metal Hooks Heavy Duty has multiple uses beyond being a clothes Line. Material is very sturdy and good size stranded steel. I have three use cases and am deciding between them - after testing each.First, the size allows a good amount of "run" for putting the dog in the yard rather than her normal area. Cable is lightweight enough to not be a drag on her, but long enough to give her good roaming room. Secondly, the cable is sized to act as the gate to a remote area drive. No, it won't stop anyone from walking in, but it does the point of keeping honest people out. Finally, as a target holder, this item stretches the distance needed, can be made very taut, and does not succumb to minor debris being tossed its way.Good product, decent price, multiple uses for me - I rate this as a very good buy.

Is that a thing? I'm not sure if that's a typo in the product image or if the seller is hoping you will glaze right past that, assuming the cord is stainless. That's what I did!Confusing labeling aside, I'm not sure if it's a stainless steel line. The physical item that I received does not say "stainless" or "atainless" on the label. The cord is coated which would seem like overkill if it is stainless. I suppose it could be to protect the clothes from snagging? Only time will tell.Regardless, everything else about this product seems to be working as intended. It didn't come with instructions, but it is packaged with two hooks, and the installation is pretty simple. I already had clothesline hooks on the house, so I just needed to install one on the garage to get this up and running. The tightening mechanism worked like a champ. It is easily able to support soggy bedding for a king-size bed—sheets, pillowcases, duvets, and covers—without anything dipping too low. Without laundry, it blends very nicely into the background. I'm pleased with it.

Normally I would take away one star due to there being no instructions whatsoever. But in this case there was no need for instructions. The whole setup is very intuitive. I had it up and ready for wet clothes in about 10 minutes. Here's the main thing I want to tell you: it's a heck of a lot sturdier than it looks in the listing on my phone. Maybe view those images on a computer and you're getting close. But it will still look less sturdy/durable than it really is.Let's face it, stainless steel cable is way stronger than typical clothesline cordage even if it's the thinnest cable made. This isn't thin. It was much thicker than I expected and the PVC coating was as well. Together they are the perfect thickness for a clothesline imo. Then there are those tiny little hooks you see in the picture. I was sure I'd have to get stronger hooks at the hardware store. But I was wrong. These are big, beefy hooks that might be hard to find in some stores. And that flimsy, small, plastic tension adjuster? It's not small or flimsy. While the outside is highly durable plastic (probably ABS or strong vinyl), the mechanism inside is metal and it works perfectly.I can't see how you can go wrong with this purchase. There was much more cable than I needed. If you need more because you have a large familty, just buy a second set. The price point seems very reasonable for something of this quality. I may never have to buy another clothesline again. It looks to be that solid.I like it when you get something from Amazon and it greatly exceeds your expectations. This VIVBOO 40ft Clothes Line definitely did that for me. I highly recommend it

This is an absolute 5-star review. The hooks, latch springs and cable are heavy duty strength. It is waterproof, rust proof and can withstand weather conditions. It states it can hold up up to 800 pounds of weight and after receiving the product, I can believe it. The stainless steel cables are strong. The only downside I see if that it is plated in nickel and I am allergic to nickel, but nickel is what has been used to weatherproof the material. If you are going to utilize it for clothing, I would use hangers and clothes pins that don't touch the line and you will be free from the allergen.*The product is multi-purpose. It can also be used to hold up canvas coverings, especially if you have more than one of these clotheslines.* 40' of line gives extra length when needed.* The heavy duty line takes up a small amount of space without being bulky.* It can be used as a traditional clothes line while the retractor assists in keeping the line firm.* It can be used to hold up other coverings such as netting in a garden.
