I've owned a variety of 5.3L Chevrolets since 1999. Love the engine, but they seem to eat water pumps periodically. I keep my vehicles longer than typical, having said that. The 1999 Silverado was was sold with 265k miles. I have 2004 Avalanche that is currently on its 4th water pump, 216k miles. So I've changed 6-7 already...The castings on this look well done. No rough burred edges. I noticed in the ad copy it shows gaskets for the thermostat which I didn't find in the box, so I'm betting (hoping?) they're in the thermostat housing.Packaging barely survives the shipping process. That needs to be improved.This is being installed shortly. I will update the review as time progresses, in terms of durability.

My truck is 20 years old, so I'm replacing parts somewhat regularly, I have to look for value as well as reliability. There's not a lot that goes into a water pump, except the housing must be well made, good gaskets, hoses fit correctly and tight. The housing seems great, I was impressed with the quality of this unit. Everything works as it should and have no doubt this unit will last many years. Great value over what I would have paid at the big box auto parts let alone the dealership. Super fast shipping

Bearings and seals went out of the pump after just one week will not purchase again wouldn't recommend anyone else purchasing it either
