About this item

  • Wide Voltage and High Power Support: The 140A solar controller handles up to 500V open-circuit voltage and 6500W power. It features a broad MPPT voltage range of 60V to 450V DC and allows for customizable charging currents from 10A to 140A.Note: Max.PV input current: 18A, it is recommended that all solar panels be connected in series. A solar panel startup voltage of 90V and an optimal operating voltage of 280V ensure efficient performance. For optimal results, 12AWG wire is used for the photovoltaic connections
  • Born for Energy Storage Batteries: Designed for applications requiring efficient energy transfer from solar arrays to battery storage over long distances, this controller supports high-voltage systems to minimize energy loss during transmission. It accommodates various energy storage batteries such as 100AH, 200AH, and higher capacities. Higher charging voltages enhance charging efficiency, utilizing high voltage direct current for energy transmission to reduce line losses and improve overall system efficiency
  • Large LCD Screen: The solar controller's LCD offers comprehensive monitoring capabilities, providing real-time information on PV voltages, PV current, PV power, battery voltage, charge current, date, power generation capacity, error codes, and version number. This user-friendly interface supports effective system performance monitoring, issue identification, and system management
  • Compatible with Multiple Type Batteries: 140amp solar charge controller compatible with a variety of 48V batteries (Lead-acid and lithium, User customize): Sealed, Gel, Flooded and LI (LiFePO4 and Lithium-Ion) battery charging parameter pre-set, other batteries can be customized charging parameter according to your need. User-programmable Bulk charging Voltage, Float Voltage, Battery equalization voltage. Battery wire size recommend:2AWG
  • Multiple Protections: The solar regulator incorporates comprehensive protection features including Undervoltage, overvoltage, overcharge, overcurrent, overheating, and short circuit protections. It also includes self-protection and self-recovery functions for perfect charging and discharging cycles. Dual smart fans ensure effective heat dissipation, preventing performance degradation due to overheating and maintaining optimal operational conditions

It works as advertised but the noise level is just off the charts. This thing can wake up the dead!

Using this on my solar system that has 200 V input, 40 amp output. No complaints at all except the Fan runs pretty much constantly.

Bought this to add to my recently expanded panel system, and am pretty happy with it. This 6.5 kW unit is ideal for people who want to bring a lot of power from their solar panels as high voltage and low current. That can be very advantageous. If you are going to use it this way, make sure you understand how ground currents work. If you don't you might get yourself electrocuted. No room for mistakes at/above those voltages.Pros:Handles 500V VocMPPT tracking works good, and responds fast.Really generates 6.5 kW of power (at least with 390 V panel setup)On/off fan keeps unit cool effectivelyDoes shut down when battery voltage reaches shutdown setting.Back light is good and does not turn off too soon.Connection terminals are pretty solidSettings good from beginning and fairly idiot proof.Cons:Fan is loud, REALLY loud. It's not obnoxious but you can hear it from 30 feet away in open air.Readings are off by about 100 WDoesn't directly tell you when in float charge mode, but it's not hard to figure it out.Buttons are a bit hard to press. You can't change the voltages (you can control current). This is actually a good thing for inexperienced users, but I would like override capability.Pay attention to:500V Voc max, not 100, 150, or 160.No Inverter. This only charges.Only works with 48V and (based on menu options) 24V systems.I initially used silicone jacketed 4 AWG pure copper welding wire rated for 150 Amps to 75 kWh battery bank. Wires got quite hot after running 120 Amps for awhile, and unit can deliver up to 140 Amps. It worked but switched to 2 AWG tinned copper. Screw up your wire sizing (too small or CCA) and you will have a fire. Don't keep your terminals tightened properly and you will eventually have a fire or fried components. Conclusions:This is my second PowMr unit. I also have a 5kW 110V MPPT controller/inverter that has been running nonstop for 13 months. I like both units. This 6.5 kW unit responds faster but the 5 kW unit runs much quieter. I like the MPPT tracking algorithm on this unit.Bottom line: if you want/have a high Volts low Amps setup then this is an ideal unit.

Been using this unit for about three weeks and its operation is fine. The battery connection is not easy to access to be able start the nuts on the battery inputs. The battery input terminals look somewhat lean for the 140 amp battery charging current. I used AWG 2 and I am hoping the terminal is not the weak link here. Good overall usability but could use a better manual, easier connections, and Bluetooth connectivity (or any connectivity).
