Everything about this is fine except for what everyone else has said: If there is anything less than full sunlight near the device, it's sensor dims the screen so much you can't see anything. If you shine a flashlight on it the sensor brightens the screen, so it's not just matter of a dim display, it's actively causing its own problem. Did no one ever test this?! I bought it thinking maybe there was a setting in the app that could fix this, and there IS a setting, but it's not for screen dimming, it's for whether the screen shuts off entirely after a certain timeout. I found the company's email and they told me they had a fix, but they would not replace mine. I then asked how I would actually know if I had a version that they considered fixed or not (like a new model number or something) and they stopped replying. So ya, buyer beware.

I've tried two of these. The first one alternated between providing the expected ~420 ppm CO2 level reading and pegging at the maximum reading of 5000 ppm, switching a few times per minute. The battery also didn't last, but I didn't focus on that given the constant alarms. After manufacturer's support couldn't provide a solution, I returned the first unit and ordered a replacement. The second unit appears to provide reasonable levels, but after charging for 24 hours to ensure a full charge, the battery lasts less than 2 hours. Can't tell if that's a defect or just poor design, but it's not acceptable. You might be able to make good use of one of these if you're in a situation where it is always connected to a USB power source.

Almost useless. After charging 24+ hours I unplugged and the unit outside to calibrate it. After an hour the screen wouldn’t turn on waving my hand in front so I plugged it back in. After a 6 hours I unplugged it again and placed it in a room. A few hours later it was dead again. I plugged it into a multi port charging adapter and left it connected all day. I can remotely access it BUT apparently it needs to be left plugged in. Then why have batteries?

As far as functionality as an Air Meter, this is the best I've seen for under $300.On the positive side, this meter easily integrates with Home Assistant and works perfectly as a room monitor you can trust as accurate to constantly read the Air Quality of a room.I verified its laser device based PM1/PM2.5/PM10 counters and the CO2 meter against a Certified Industrial handheld that cost 20x the price and it's within 2% across all readings. That's quite impressive at this price and is the 1st desktop unit I've found that came even close to being that accurate. The downloadable Smartphone app is easy to use and has User Settable Alarms for CO2 and PM2.5 levels that can send an SMS Alert or email (or both) based on reading levels you select. The unit itself has a built-in beeper that sounds an alarm when the levels get too high. It’s not very loud, but enough to get your attention. The huge problem with this is there is a very dark smoke colored lens in front of the color LCD display making it difficult it read at full brightness and it "Self Dims" after a few seconds to a level so low it can't be read. (see photo of it plugged in and 100% charged)This happens whether it's plugged in or running off 100% charged batteries. If I pick it up, it brightens the display for about 2 seconds... then basically shuts itself off.Unfortunately this makes it useless as a Desktop Meter.I might keep it as a "Display-less" meter and place it somewhere like the attic or a storage room, but it can't be used as its intended purpose.

I have no way to rest the accuracy of the CO2 or CO readings but I have a traditional CO detector and that is not activated and this reads zero so that at least matches? The CO2 meter does increase as people in the room increase as I would expect. It’s a good indicator to let me know when it’s time to open a window and get some fresh air in.It’s very easy to move around and set up. The display is bright and easy to read. The color coding is handy for quick glances. The battery lasts a few hours but it does allow you to run the unit while plugged in as well which makes it easy for me to set up by my computer at work.

So far, it works great very accurate as far as I can tell very responsive picks things up right away. I walked up close to somebody who was smoking a cigarette and it started to respond right away. My only concern is I have no way to figure out how to keep it from turning off automatically After a few minutes, it’s just off and it’s not like it keeps reading in the background as far as I can tell that would be OK if it just turns off the display but it’s not it’s turning off completely. Does anyone know how to stop it from doing that?

I bought several of these so that I could know the air quality at various times of the day. I'm able to see all of them through the app.

This is the worst product I’ve ever bought. This thing is not charging at all and it’s going off-line every second unfortunately I have trashed the box and I cannot return it, but this item is going directly into my trash.
