As others have stated the plastic plug will not screw into the elbow. I have a metal elbow on the engine currently. The old drain plug wouldn’t screw into this elbow and neither would the drain pipe lug that came with it.

my original drain plug was plastic on my 1996 larson 4.3 merCruiser. this one is metal. probable will rust out sooner then later. but will not get brittle and fall apart on me in the middle of the lake. very happy with this.

The plastic drain petcock will not screw in all the way to seat the O ring. I give up this is my second part with the same issue.

It was necessary to attempt to tap the threads to the best possible thread size/pitch. Even after that effort the removeable plugs still did not install/remove properly
