Very sold and responsive switch. The blue/green light feature is nice to have. I like it much better than a similar product I had prior to this one.

The USB switch performs well. Switching between PCs takes less than 2 seconds (probably about 1 second). The USB cable is 4 feet long and not very thick. But data transfer speeds are reliable. In my tests, file transfers were equally fast whether using a flash drive (Lexar's 128GB JumpDrive S75 USB 3.0 Flash Drive) through the switch or connecting directly to the PC — even without the power cable connected. I encountered an issue after pc restart, but that is solved by plugging a simple usb2.0 hub into an output port and connecting the Kay board dongle and mouse to the hub. Given its lower price compared to most 4-port USB switches on Amazon, this device offers good value for money.

This hub failed to work well with my linux machine (6.13.3-2-cachyos, btw). it threw errors on boot and was preventing my keyboard from working until it was unplugged and re-plugged in. Get the BENFEI USB 3.0 switch instead, works great.

It's still working fine many months later. I have no complaints.

Works as advertised, really made plugging in my work laptop painless. Very clean data passage, even with Logitech app controlling RGM on my KB & rodent.

I have a desktop computer that I own and use for my personal business and I used to also use for my job. But then my job decided everyone who telecommutes needs to bring their work laptop back and forth as we only telecommute 50% of the time and must go to the office 50% of the time. Now I’m always lugging this laptop around. So, I got a docking station to use my dual monitors at home. I always use a separate keyboard and mouse because laptop touchpads are awkward and less proficient. For a time I used 2 keyboards and 2 mouses (mice?). One for my work laptop and one for my personal desktop. Then I was like, “this is dumb.”My wife has a somewhat similar set up in our office, but her personal computer is a laptop and has the usb-c port that is able to connect to the docking station, so she easily switches from her personal pc to her work pc. My desktop pc doesn’t have the same connection option, so I got this little switch you see here that allows me to keep keyboard, mouse, etc. connected and I just switch between it controlling my personal desktop and my work laptop. It does the job without a hitch.

I previously had a KVM with VGA and two USB ports to switch between two PCs. It served me well for a while, but I ended up using a separate HDMI switch for the display. I like to be able to switch peripherals independently from switching screens. The cables from the KVM to the PC were some kind of proprietary VGA + USB combination cables which are somewhat unwieldy. When I recently upgraded from a basic older Dell mouse to a nice Razer mouse, I sometimes had problems with the mouse not switching. Googling suggested that this may be an issue with Emulated USB KVMs - these have the ability to switch from a hotkey press on the keyboard (which is nice) but somehow the need to interpret and retransmit input signals might be an issue with some peripherals.I also tried the Synergy software application, where you can connect multiple PCs to a single set of peripherals and multiple monitors by a network connection. It worked well, but is a no-go when one of the PCs is a locked-down work computer. The Ablewe USB switch works better for my setup. Sometimes I find myself typing the hotkey out of habit before I realize it doesn't work with this kind of switch. The switching is good though, and reaching over a few feet isn't a big deal. The button on the top provides a crisp click and does not get stuck in an intermediate state like my HDMI switch often does. I haven't compared side-by-side, but switching between PCs seems to take about the same amount of time as the KVM - on the order of 1 to 3 seconds. I like the blue/green indicator for which PC is switched in. I have only used a keyboard and mouse so far and have not needed to plug in the power supply. I haven't had any issues with the Razer mouse so far. Because the Ablewe uses standard USB cables, cable management is much less obnoxious than with the KVM. The Ablewe is smaller and lighter than I expected. I would like if it were a bit heavier duty and weighed more to resist moving with the cables. But after about a month of use, it seems like an overall winner.
