Ambient Weather's Indoor AQIN (PM2.5, PM10, and CO2) Particulate Monitor is a highly sophisticated indoor Particle sensor monitor that works with Ambient Weather’s most advanced weather stations. The Ambient AQIN indoor sensor can be positioned anywhere in and around your home to monitor PM2.5, PM10, and CO2 concentration levels and includes an internal thermo-hygrometer. Sends data to AmbientWeather.net where you can monitor and analyze the air quality. Send alerts. Compatible with Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The sensor is a high-quality Swiss-made Sensirion Particle Sensor. PM2.5 refers to particles that are 2.5 microns or smaller in diameter. PM10 refers to particles that are 10 microns or smaller in diameter. The Sensirion Particle Sensor uses laser scattering to radiate suspending particles in the air, then collects scattering light to obtain the curve of scattering light change with time. The microprocessor calculates equivalent particle diameter and the number of particles with different diameter per unit volume.
The AQIN is not a stand alone sensor, but integrates with most of our weather stations.
Notes & Limitations:
Place the sensor in a well ventilated, non-moisture condensing area. The AQIN Wireless Indoor Particulate Monitor has a water resistance rating of IPX0 (for indoor use only; this product has no special protection from water).
With PM2.5 and PM10 sensors, water droplets reflect the light, and can result in a higher reading. This is characteristic of the inherent sensor design. The condition occurs when: Temperature – Dew point Temperature ≤ 2ş C (3.6 şF). Thus, when the air is nearly saturated, the data is invalid.

The PM25IN and AQIN use the same channel. Each receiver will only support one PM25IN or one AQIN, not both.

It does its job, however makes an annoying high pitched noise that is just loud enough to hear. Had to return because of this.

Having this in the house has really helped know when to open the windows and air out the house vs keeping them closed (I have a separate outside sensor)… I’d buy this again.

I love my Ambient weather station, so I bought both an indoor and outdoor air quality monitor. The problem is that I put them in close proximity and the variance between the two for PM2.5 is very high. It ranges from a 25% difference to over 50%. I spent almost $350 on the two, and they give wildly different readings. I've contacted Ambient, so if they give me a reasonable explanation or replace a bad unit, I will update my review.

I would like to have this but at this price point it should include carbon monoxide detection as well.Edit: I just bought this. I need quality and after looking around Ambient Weather won. I do wish it had carbon monoxide, but I would be more concerned if I had gas stove or furnace.I'll add more after using it for a bit.

I have been testing this for recording outdoor air quality in a protected environment (away from risk of getting wet) and the 2.5 and 10 measurements are much, much lower than other sensors in the air quality network in my region. For example, they are both reading 7 this morning, while the PM2.5 around here is 67 and the PM 10 is around 21. Why would this be? I can't imagine that the air outside my house is that much better than everywhere else. Probably returning it for a different air quality measurement system.

The CO2 seems calibrated well with outdoors producing 450-500 ppm; it's nice to know that our house probably could use some extra ventilation when the numbers go near 2000. It's neat to see the CO2 numbers rise and fall as we come and go. PM measurements only go up when cooking, which is reasonable.
