I received the order with no cloth filter. But according to the item description the cloth filter should be included.

The glass is very thin and very delicate so you have to handle it very carefully, it's a shame I couldn't find another cloth strainer to replace it or an extra one. the rest has good style.

This pour-over kit, with some practice and a consistent process, can make a rapid, rich, excellent cup of coffee. I wash and dry the filter immediately and expect it to last a long time.I have been using a metal mesh pour-over funnel at home, but wanted something to use at work. I don't like paper filters, they remove too much of the richness of the coffee, but I found this cloth filter doesn't flatten the taste like paper does. They sell replacement filters too, at a good price (I misplaced mine for a while so I needed another.) I like that these filters are not only washable, they have a built-in hook so you can hang them to properly dry. I use the coathook in my cubicle closet, as shown. The hard carrying case is cleverly designed. The small disk for holding the base and cone after you finish making the coffee is a nice touch, but I accidentally knocked it off the table and you should know these things really shatter when they fall. So, don't knock one off the table if you can help it, is my advice. My particular recipe for pour-over, because I like really strong espresso-like coffee, is to grind beans to a very fine grind (3 on my 0-16 burr grinder) and then use about 1/3 cup of grounds for a 6-ounce cup that I mix with equal parts milk for a really smooth very strong latte. Of course, I've had to mix 3/4 decaf into my beans because that's a REALLY STRONG cup of coffee, but wow that taste. And with caffeinated beans as 1/4 of the total it's about as caffeinated as a double-espresso shot.

This is a nice little travel kit especially for those of us preferring glass filters to plastic. The set itself is complete with a borosilicate glass filter, an olive wood holder, one cloth filter, a little dish to place the used cone on once the coffee drains and a carrying case. The set is designed so that the pieces fit together to make the set very small sized (about the size of a regular coffee cup). Borosilicate glass is used doubtless because it accepts temperature fluctuations better than regular glass or soda glass so often being used in some glass cookware these days.Once set up a six to seven ounce cup of coffee can be dripped then is ready to drink straight from the cup the coffee dripped into. As nice as this set is especially for traveling, I had to take a star off because the zipper on the storage/travel case broke about half way across the top on the first use. I had to finish opening the case manually. That was disappointing especially since once stored in the case, the set is quite small and the bag seemed strong and sturdy. Also, even though the cloth filter is environmentally sound, it does absorb some of the taste of the coffee. Since I have unbleached size 02 coffee filters on hand and they are taller than this filter, they will work just fine if a smidge of the top is clipped off.In spite of the zipper break on the storage/travel bag, I really like the set itself. It is small and takes up little space and is glass and wood. Since a high quality glass filter alone can cost $20 dollars or so I feel the price of $46.99 at the time of this review is fair assuming everything is intact and workable. If not, then the return policy is available. Finally, with this set all one needs to provide is coffee grounds and high quality water. This is a nice compact little coffee dripping set.

It took some force to mate the funnel with the wooden flange and I thought it might break when pressing together. It is a tight fit.I made coffee with this apparatus this morning for myself and my missus. I used paper filters folded like we learned to fold paper filters in science.I think the scallops on the rim of the funnel help to disipate heat making it easy to lift the funnel to the resting place. The cup is light weight and finely crafted with a nice ring to it. I like the clear glass so that I don't have to peek to see how full the cup is getting. The handle, however, doesn't fit my hand very well in that it has only room for one of my fingers and it is long enough that it wants to tip away from my grip. A pour spout would also be nice for transferring coffee to another cup.The case is nice. I'll be using the cloth filter as padding between the funnel and the cup while traveling and bring along paper filters.I think the whole works is well made and carries an air of sophistication.I'm sure glad the pope blessed coffee!

I just cannot enjoy "pod" coffee, or even the little mini filters they provide in many hotels. I like a good strong cup of coffee to wake up to. That's where this very simple, beautifully crafted pour over set fills the bill. Nestled in the small zippered carrying case is a very nice glass cup, pour-over cone and ring, and some reusable cloth filters. All you have to do is remember to bring ground coffee. Most hotels have that little coffee machine I mentioned above to provide the boiling water needed.I imagine this would be a great thing to bring camping as well. My only minor issue is that if you're in a hurry to check out you may not have time to wash and allow to dry the cloth filter. Again, a very minor issue. If you need a stronger brew than the hotel in-room machines can make, this set is for you. Just don't forget to bring the ground coffee too.

Buy a metal v60 and reusable filter. The case is cute but the glass broke after a week of use. This is one of the fancy ideas dreamed up without real world testing.
