This is actually the first finished animal I’ve ever made crocheting, and I totally love her ! As a beginner, the pattern was easy to read and the yarn was great - it’s like a tee shirt material, so it doesn’t split or snag, and it was easy to count my stitches. I did tweak the pattern a little bit, because I didn’t like the size of the hat, but I’m so happy with the finished product and am really proud of myself! I’d definitely recommend this to anyone who’s just learning to crochet, or who’s branching out from blankets and scarves to amigarumi.

I gave this 4 stars because it does come with useful components, 2 comfortable crochet hooks, lockable stitch markers, and a pre-stitched magic circle. That magic circle is so useful when learning so you can see up close exactly how it should look.The best part is the material being worked. For a beginner I think this is the greatest thing ever. Rather than yarn which, as a beginner, is too easy to accidentally get a hook caught in between the wound fibers the material used is a seamless, stretchy, tube fabric that looks like a mercerized cotton, smooth with a slight sheen. This stuff is a dream to work with and doesn't fray or pill like many yarns do with repeated or rough handling.My gripe is having to use a scanner for the QR symbol. The videos these led me to were less than helpful. I've been stumbling through entering key crochet terms to search for videos I found clearer. This is a subjective thing by a non- 8-12 year older. Maybe if I weren't learning in my 40s these would be fine (doubt it).The set is totally worth it though to get your hands on the yarn alternative and crochet hooks alone so there's that plus. If you have a friend who is well versed in crochet this pattern will wiz by.

This crochet kit for beginners from Auoinge DIY handcrafts looks like a very fun project kit and the end product when it's completed is great fun to play with or just admire as it sits on your display shelf.I got this kit to work on with a grandson while we are visiting during their spring break this year. I am looking forward to that one on one time together with him. I have a daughter that does some pretty advanced creations and she encouraged me on this selection, noting that the peasy yarn was really easy to work with and that it was an especially good choice since this isn't just a flat development but a curved or round creation. I appreciate that everything needed is included. Yarns plus a small rest roll, scissors, crochet hooks, needle, pins. It is all neatly there. The stuffing is vacuum packed so I won't disturb it until we are ready for the filling..My daughter was totally into penguins when she was a young girl so I am hoping that her son will enjoy this project to produce one more special link with this one. He does super at Lego type creations but I think that it's time to branch out a bit more.I appreciate that the kit has both written instructions as well as the videos which can help guide through each creation step. I finally had to put yarn over the video links since it kept linking me to those instead of just taking a picture. What I read and have watched demonstrates that it will be as helpful to me as it will be to my grandson. And regardless of how well we do it will be a special project time together!

Shipping was a hassle. For some reason, I had to cancel buying it on the Thursday to purchase it on the Friday to get it on the Saturday.
