This is one of the only PCIe x1 4K capture cards, and it's Gen 3 where most are Gen 2. I was really hoping to use this for my Sony A6700 green screen camera, but sadly only NV12 option shows up in 4K but it does support 2K30 P010. You're going to have to shell out the money for a Blackmagic Decklink Quad, or record internally and do your live preview with NV12 or drop down to 1080p, which isn't that bad, just a slower workflow but you can transfer the files via Wifi.

The pass through works great and the card captures well!! The only gripe is the low profile card sells the bracket separately ๐!!

Overall I've had no major issues recording PS5 gameplay to my pc using this and OBS. The only problem I've run into with it is that if my pc turns my monitors off, this sometimes gets detected weirdly when I turn things back on. Causing me to have to plug the cables out and back in. It was a fairly rare occurance, but worth noting.Overall though I recorded good quality footage and didn't introduce any latency when playing on the mirrored output.

My son is always wanting to stream his video games, so I got this when it came up. Was super easy to install into the motherborad and case, doesn't need any power supply connection (like most video cards do). It's a simple passthrough style, you have the HDMI coming in from the console, and then out from the PC to the TV or monitor. Super easy to use, and the results are quite nice. A+

I often have a need to record video from portable devices. One of the biggest problems I've had with these kinds of devices is the latency. I wish I could capture an HDMI device in a window and play it from there. I had hoped that this would have a negligible latency. Unfortunately, the latency is high enough that action games aren't able to be played directly from OBS. The video from the capture device was almost 0.1 seconds behind. The latency is small enough that turn based RPGs are playable. To be confident, I ran a video file that counted from 0-59 at 60fps. It confirmed that the capture stream was around 5 frames behind. This works out to be around 80+ ms.Installing it was easy. I did not have to install any drivers. It was recognized as a webcam by my OS. Importing it into OBS was also easy to do. I love that it can capture in 4K and I love that it has pass through. Because of the latency of the capture mode, passthrough is essential for playing games as I stream it.

I stream mostly card games and rogue-lites... usually not the most graphically challenging things, so your mileage may vary. But, this capture card works great for me for HDMI devices. I still use an older external card for composite or component sources, but this is perfect for Switch and PS4.It was easy to install and get up and running. Big fan of AverMedia hardware in general, and this one was no exception.

If you stream your game play (or other video) OR you want to record off an HDMI output (perhaps the output of another computer, for example), this is a great card for the job - sure, you can do it with software (at least the streaming portion), but this hardware card allows you stream or record at up to 4K30Hz (it passes through at up to 4K60Hz) or 1080P 120Hz if you prefer high frame rates WITHOUT impacting your CPU or GPU with encoding the video data. That's a boost to your performance - and it does it all with low latency. The card was easy to install (you do need a free PCI-e x1 or higher slot) and it was quick to get up and working with OBS for streaming and recording (though I imagine you could use other software as well). The recorded video looks great (I'm using it for recording more than streaming). Note that if you want to record / stream from the SAME PC that you're using to game on, you'll connect the output of your GPU to the input of the streaming card, then the output of the streaming card to your monitor which seems like an odd setup, but work just fine.So if you want to up your streaming and/or recording game, this is a great way to do just that. Give it a try today!
