A bit pricey. Similar to the Baden VCors in feel, but the surface feels "drier", a bit rubbery but not quite that. It's a weird (not bad) feel since it gives good grip for setters or putting spin on the ball. Visibility is pretty good (honestly, any ball that isn't a solid color does for indoors). Has good "pop" but feels lighter" than a Molten Flistatec and more alive than a Mikasa V200W. I don't see this displacing any of the balls in the same price range though. Moltens and (sometimes) Mikasas tend to go on reasonable sales that can bring their true price down to the $50s. You can even find the Molten IV5F for less than that, and it's probably my favorite ball to play with. Hard to say how durable it is (no concerns, just probably won't get a chance to send it through a beating since I don't think people will drop their Moltens to play with it). Overall, a good competition quality ball that is ready to be played out of the box, like any modern synthetic vball. I suspect it'd be great for a summer indoor gym where sweat can affect grip on the ball.

I am new to the world of volleyball and volleyballs so when my physical therapist told our group to go out and get a volleyball, I ordered the Baden Matrix Perfection Nylon Wound Professional Indoor Volleyball. I am now the envy of my physical therapy group. The folks who knew about Baden were in awe, and those who did not were in awe because of the quality of the Baden outshined the other volleyballs. The Baden volleyball works for me. I can tell the difference between the feel of the Baden volleyball and the plasticky feel of the volleyballs used by members of my physical therapy group. The feel of the Baden volleyball is its best attribute – it just feels right – a special feeling that is hard to describe. I am using the Baden volleyball at home and at the physical therapy location to help me improve my balance, coordination, and leg strength. It is working but it will be around the twelfth of never before I acquire the skills and abilities to perform like the folks on the cardboard wrap around this volleyball.Yes, … “Perfection.” It is the best descriptor for this volleyball.Bravo.

Well, the 1 star review is a bit harsh and likely affected by amazon not refunding the money as they normally would. They didn't mention if they checked the air pressure, perhaps it was off. On to my review, I like the feel of it, it is strange, almost like rubber but not at all at the same time... It has a little bit of grip. The ball has divits, almost like a golf ball, but much much less pronounced, you have to try to feel them. They state it is to help the ball stay true to flight no matter the rotation / power. It is called a truflite cover. The pattern is designed to help players understand the spin on the ball. However, at one of it's higher priced balls, you may want to try one in a sporting goods store and determine if you like the feel. It is the correct weight and size. Midwestvolleyball suggest that it will play to the strengths of power-hitters and float servers. The stealth valve is neat, it is just right in the regular part of the volleyball, sometimes there would be a rubber ring to seal the air pressure. I believe that is more of how a tour de france rider might pay a lot more to shave 1 oz off of a piece of equipment. I don't think it will help rec indoor volleyball players that much, but I also don't think they need this top of the line ball unless they are willing to spend for the extra features. The seams are nice and hardly noticeable. I would suggest looking around at other balls in the same category and finding some 'This ball vs. Another ball' type reviews online. Oh, and don't forget it is an indoor only ball. In summary, if you're a top of the line player you know more about volleyballs than me. If you're in a rec league and have some disposable income it's a decent option. I will also say I was a sand-volleyball player and only played a season and a few games of indoor volleyball. I know I received this through vine and people are skeptic, but I do try to give honest reviews.

I like the ball. Same size as a Molten flistastec 5000 but isn’t as heavy and is really bouncy. The cover of the ball I’d say it feels like a Volley Lite. I personally really liked it but I play coed volleyball primarily and all the guys who like to hit, haaaaated it so I couldn’t justify keeping it. I would say it is much closer to a molten v5000 than the yellow mikasas.I returned my ball because of this. I dropped it off to UPS per Amazon’s request on 1/16/25. Amazon is usually really good with refunding my money. This time it said ‘refund issuance failed’ and every time I reached out to customer service (like I’m supposed to) they tell me to just wait. They don’t attempt the refund again. They just tell me I’m still within my 14 day period. Tell me to contact my bank and it’s now 1/25/25 and I still have no refund.Update!!! I received my refund finally on 1/28/25.

I don't know if this volleyball is worth the price, you would have to make that decision based on your own financial situation. I've purchased really cheap balls, name brand balls, and everything in between and this is definitely at the top in terms of quality.

I recently got the Baden Matrix volleyball, and I've been really happy with it for our indoor games. The nylon wound construction gives it a consistent and predictable feel, which is exactly what you want in a professional-level ball. It has a nice, soft touch on the arms, yet it still provides a good, crisp hit when you need it.The official size and weight are spot on, making it feel just like the balls we use in more competitive settings. It holds air well, and after several intense matches, it hasn't lost any noticeable pressure or shape. The visual design is clean and classic, making it easy to track during fast-paced rallies. Overall, the Baden Matrix is a reliable and well-made volleyball that's perfect for serious indoor players. If you're looking for a quality ball that performs consistently, this is definitely one to consider.
