This is a great bread slicer. Has a tray for crumbs and slices sourdough or sandwich bread easily. Easy to clean but hand wash only people! Has multiple slots for breads of all widths.

Helps get even slices for homemade bread, and when disassembled it is fairly compact for storage between the crumb tray and the base. The boards aren't perfectly stable though, so it'll wobble around a bit but it works well. Just wish it had a better mechanism for locking in place or storing

We don't buy whole loaves very often (or bread, really) but it's nice to get some relatively even slices out of a loaf. If you have a big round loaf it won't fit in as you'd expect, but with a little creative positioning, you can do it. It's small when all disassembled, and doesn't take up too much space in the cabinet.

UPDATE:I have grown to truly appreciate this!! It is even helpful when cutting homemade bagels.I stores easily and also looks great on the counter. It is wonderful once it finishes off-gassing!(Updated from 4 to 5 stars)——————-Pros:- thoughtfully well-made- sturdy and attractive- versatile - I like the numerous sizing options for both loaf width and slice thickness- the guides are easy to remove and fit in the crumb tray below for compact storageCons:- It started off with a STRONG and toxic chemical smell; so strong that I didn’t want it in my house. I put it out in the garage for a couple of weeks to let it off-gass as it was a truly awful odor. It eventually stopped smelling so that I could bring it inside and start using it.- Even with all of the size options, it doesn’t adjust for the width of a typical loaf of bread baked in a 9 x 5 loaf pan. I have to place the loaf on its side and hold in place to keep it from moving. It’s not the most convenient, but it still works. Even so, this is the best bread guide I’ve tried (I’ve had at least three before this one).

I usually pass on those great looking artisan breads I see in the shops because of the frustration trying to slice even somewhat similar slices, but no more. I ordered this one because I recently decided to try sourdough baking and I’m definitely happy I did.I didn’t expect too much because I’ve been a woodworker for years so little things others would probably not notice really bother me sometimes, but I was extremely impressed with the craftsmanship of this piece. The (bamboo) wood is beautiful and very well constructed. It feels very substantial when handling it.It comes with a crumb tray that holds the three (back and two sides) pieces in it. The tray slides in and out of the base perfectly so when not in use you can definitely store it easily. To use it, just slide out the tray, place the two sides to accommodate up to three different widths of loaves and lock them in with the back by sliding it in. The sides allow for two sizes of slices.I’ve used it several times and each slice comes out perfectly and very easy to do and replicate. I’ve already oiled it with food-grade mineral oil and it looks even better than new.All in all, I’m very happy with the versatility, quality and craftsmanship. I would not hesitate at all to recommend to friends and family.

This is a nice bamboo bread slicer. It has options for thick and thin. It has little slits to capture the breadcrumbs as they fall down from slicing. It has a plastic bread capturing container that's easy to clean. The whole thing is easy to clean. What I don't like about it is how flimsy it feels. It feels like if you were to apply any pressure at the top while squeezing it that you're going to snap the bamboo. so be very careful with it and you'll be all right, I'm just concerned that I'm going to break it. Overall though I am happy with it.
