New Technology---GPS Location Tracker
- Enter GPS mode, In standby, press Green [-] key to enter the main menu >> GNSS >> GPS Information.
- In GPS mode, you can only view location information and cannot make normal calls. Voice intercom must exit GPS mode in order to proceed.
- You can set the system time, GPS on/off, time zone, and GPS mode through the position system menu. Press and hold Red [--] key to view, share, and request location information.

Unlike the other very similar Baofengs this model is NOT CHIRP compatible. Get the 5RM instead.

The radio has a great looking screen and feels good in the hand. Lots of improvements over the previous model. Once it has CHIRP support it'll be great.

Good power output, but APRS is not fully functional. Must use their CPS, not yet supported by Chirp. Really hope they come out with an update to fix the APRS to work properly as a beacon, and ad the missing settings. It locks on to GPS position, and it does give a APRS beacon burst, but they are not properly formatted, so Igates don't pass them to APRS IS and won't show up on APRSfi or other services. Large display is very easy to read and use, can even be inverted so you can read it in a mount.

It's alright. The APRS is not real APRS. It's their own AFSK packet, not your typical ax.25 protocol. Don't get this expecting your local digipeaters to pick it up.Microphone stopped working after a month and a half. I'm a little disappointed in the PoFung-built Baofeng radios.Just get an AR-5RM. You'll thank me later.

It seems the bad reviews are left about either not knowing how to use the radio or because Chirp sadly isn't yet supported. I know you can not yet upload a piture file into the boot screen with the CPS software yet either. I wanted to do that like my AR-5RM has, but cannot yet do it. It just won't work, it crashes the program.The radio is great! It might not have good APRS though. Or maybe it doesn't work at all. That's what I read from someone elses review. I have never used APRS so I do not know. I know GPS works. As soon as I recieve my second one I will know how it works sending GPS to each other. The radio gets about 7 to 7.5 watts on GMRS and almost 6.5 on VHF and 8watts on UHF. Works great!I'm sure in time they will improve this radio and get it working with Chirp.I had one of these radios goofing up on me and it also had a dim screen brightness even when turned up all the way it was much dimmer than supposed to be. They sent me a new one free of charge!!! Incredible customer support from Tidradio Mall!!!
