What a fabulous gadget. I am a very awkward knitter, I hold the needles strangely and yarn is always getting caught on something or rolling on the floor. The yarn spins effortlessly helping with the tension as well. It is strong enough that if I pull quicky or move my arm fast it does not come loose. It also looks really pretty and keep the yarn neat and clean. This would make a great gift for knitters.

This is quite a neat little tool. I had to start a new project to get some new yarn and give it a spin - literally! I have tried it with three types of yarn so far - a very soft acrylic Yarn Bee, A 100% rayon, and a cotton/acrylic blend. The looser the skein, the harder it is to work with when unspooling. A good, solid yarn will let you knit or crochet at the speed you love - zero pulling, zero knotting. The very loose, soft acrylic Yarn Bee skein I got really squashed down when I put it on - just from gravity. Because of the splay, I have to fight it a bit when the string is on the bottom of the skein. Still easier than rolling balls and dealing with yarn that way. I am a fan. It's also just very pretty, so even when you're not on a project, it looks cool. This is very reasonably priced for what it is and for me, it's a time and trouble saver.

I really wish I would have found this nifty little item a long time ago. I have seen the bowls and bags you thread the yarn out of but none of those things really work that well nor do they work with all shapes and sizes of yarn. Its fine if you have a skein that you can pull the end out of the center but most seem to not do that anymore or at least I can't find them. I hate to stop and pull on the yarn or worse when I do the ball goes rolling away. If I get in a zone and forget to pull the yarn my stitches get inadvertently tighter and I wind up redoing them. This yarn holder works with every shape and size yarn comes in with maybe the exception of the super giant super bulky chunky blanket yarn. I do a lot of amigurumi with thicker chenille or velvet yarn and it all worked perfectly. The magnet is strong enough that it can hold the weight of pretty heavy yarn and me pulling it off. I can crochet away and not have to constantly deal with my yarn it just disperses it smoothly and evenly. I feel like it saves me a lot of fiddle around time.

This is wonderful!! I recently started loom knitting again after having to stop due to health reasons. I have been searching for things that would allow me to do my craft without causing any strain on the joints in my hands and wrists and I came across this yarn holder. While there are really no written instructions, looking at the photos of the different pieces, I was able to (with the Hublet's strength) to assemble it without needing to scratch my head.I have to say...that magnet is STRONG! Your skein or ball of yarn isn't going anywhere. I've been using it to hold yarn while creating yarn "cupcakes" with my electric yarn ball winder. Even at a higher speed, the only thing the spindle did was rock back and forth, but the base didn't so much as move (it probably has to do with the silicone "feet" that you can attach to the bottom. The yarn holder comes with a package containing 2 screws, the little silicone feet I mentioned and a screwdriver!!This is definitely worth getting to make your yarn crafting go a bit easier.

Barva's motto on the box states, "Comfort and joy in every detail." This is a company that really means it. This yarn holder hits all the marks. It's well crafted and the magnet works great. It held a large 10.5 oz skein of yarn with no issues. The spindle stayed attached and swung freely as it should. The wood is nicely finished with smooth sanding and beautiful dark wood stain and just looks very elegant. It even arrived beautifully boxed with each piece in its own bubble wrap and looks like a high end gift. It includes the 2 screws and even a mini screwdriver to complete the easy assembly. Included was a nice card with directions on 1 side and care instructions on the other. I bought this to hold the yarn for an electric yarn winder but can tell I'll be using it for using skiens without needing to wind into a cake first. This would make a really thoughtful gift for all your fellow crochet and knitting enthusiasts.

Price at time of order: $14.37Price at time of review: $23.95I see that it has taken an almost $10 jump in price in the two weeks since I ordered mine, but it's still well worth the price. It comes nicely packaged in a cardboard box with each piece encased in a bubble wrap pouch to protect them. Everything you need, including easy to follow instructions, is included in the box. Even the screwdriver that's included is a good quality that I will be keeping near my desk for future use! I had no trouble assembling it, but be aware that it does take a bit of muscle with the two screws, but that's necessary for it to be sturdy once assembled. My yarn winder makes 10 oz cakes, and it easily holds one. I have other stands like this and if someone hits the table the spindle will drop, but this one holds strong. In addition to the 10 oz cake, I was able to put a full 7 oz skein of worsted weight yarn with no problem, as well as a full skein of blanket yarn.If you've never used one of these yarn holders, you should definitely get one and this one is awesome! They will totally change the way you knit or crochet because you never have to pull your yarn, it just flows off the skein as you work. I've told everyone about them, and that it's almost like magic.

This is a very well made magnetic yarn holder. The magnet is very strong and the spindle holds a 100 gram ball of yarn. I love how easy it feeds yarn as you knit or crochet. You never have to stop to pull more yarn from the ball. Also, the yarn doesn't get twisted. Much nicer than the one it's replacing.
