My husband uses this product every time he starts the grill. It helps get wood chips and charcoal both started and allows the coals to reach proper reduction before adding to the grill bed.. it will also help extend the life of your grill bed because the accelerant is not going into the grill. I also do not notice as much of an accelerant taste when he uses this.

very sturdy product but during the assembly, it is hard to install the heat guard on the handle. the heat guard has two slots and it is not easy to position it on the handle. In fact I suffered a small cut while forcing the guard on the handle. i think they should assemble the heat guard on the handle before packing it. otherwise the product works well as a fire starter.

Love this chimney starter! I hate the smell—and taste of lighter fluid. The chimney is super easy to use and temping your coals is a breeze! No lighter fluid needed!

After watching a youtube vid of a guy using a chimney starter and claiming to no longer need lighter fluid, I decided to get one myself. Since I'm new to this, I decided with this brand since it was cheap, and looked like a good product. It works as expected, with no lighter fluid, which shocked me!I recommend this for those new to grilling, or chimney starters, and I know eventually I will buy a bigger chimney in the future. My one nitpick is that even filled to it's max with charcoal, there wasn't enough charcoal for my 22 inch grill, so I had to light up 2 batches of charcoal. So if you have a bigger grill, either do as I did, buy 2 of these smaller charcoal chimneys and light them at the same time, or just buy a bigger version to light at the charcoal you need at once.I'm still amazed that no lighter fluid was needed. At last, no lingering lighter fluid taste on my food.
