I purchased a pair of Bilstein shock absorbers for my 2002 Cadillac Escalade AWD in 05/2019. On 01/2023 I discovered that one of the shock absorbers was leaking. That's approximately 2.5 years and approximately 30K miles. I was expecting more from a premium shock.

I am truly disappointed in the ride of my 2004 Suburban after changing to these shocks. The ride is worse than the old worn out KYBs that we’re replaced. Especially disappointed because of the improvement the same shocks made when I put them in a ‘99 Silverado. I feel every bump and crack in the road. I don’t know why these are so bad.

They work well so far (only very limited on pavement use so far), but the upper rubber mounting dampeners that come with them aren't the same as the OEM (GM) and definitely not as durable. The OEM dampeners have a steel compression ring inside top rubber dampeners that protects the threaded stem from rubbing against the mounting bracket. The ones that come with these shocks does not have this compression ring and relies completely on the rubber geometry to protect the stem. There's an annular ring portion on both upper rubber dampeners that is supposed to go inside the mounting hole on the upper mounting bracket of the vehicle. As long as they're secured properly inline, that is probably fine. But the problem is, after you've threaded the nut down to a certain point, you can no longer see if they're aligned so that the stem isn't riding against the bracket. I could see it potentially wearing out the threaded stem and at best, you'd have a difficult time ever removing them. At worst, the stem could get warn down such that the shock becomes detached at the top end.

Love Bilstein shocks. A quality product. Replaced leaky/shot shocks on a 03 Chevy Silverado with these and the ride is great. Very happy. Installation took a hour and a half each side. Would have been much faster if I had the right impact sockets and extensions, so I ended up using hand wrenches.

Not the same ride quality but a lot cheaper than stock options, about 80% cheaper. Been driving around on them for three weeks now and was off road with them last weekend and they performed just fine.

I replaced aftermarket front shocks with these along with Bilstein rear shocks (24-143806) and springs (199020) on my stock height, 4wd, '03 Yukon XL SLT with 103K miles. I was converting the rear shocks from the Premium Smooth Ride (ZW7) Nivomat shocks (not electronically controlled leveling shocks) and needed to replace the fronts too. I tow a 5,000 lb. camper with the truck and use Air Lift 1000 air bags in the springs. I did some research and called several vendors about whether I should buy the 4600 or 5100 series shocks and all recommended the 4600. They've been in the truck for 3 weeks now. The NE Ohio roads are in rough shape and I am pleased with the ride; the truck rides like new again, there was no change in ride height, and everything bolted in without modification. I looked at other shock brands but Bilstein had so many good reviews, most notably on Yukon XL/Suburban blogs, I was willing to pay a little more per shock (compared to other standard shocks) knowing that other owners had good experiences.

Purchased these for replacement of my old worn units on my 2005 Chevy Avalanche.Amazon's vehicle ID and parts verification feature worked perfectly and helped with my purchase! This will be the third set of these great shocks that I have had on my Avalanche, now with over 200K miles on it.I won't put anything else on it except for BILSTEINS!
