Bismuth Chunk 2lbs. You will receive a vacuum sealed bag with 2lbs of bismuth chunk inside. Bismuth metal is great for element collectors, crystal makers or any one who has a use for a low melting temperature metal. It is a non toxic metal with symbol Bi and atomic number 83. You can make beautiful crystals. The most diamagnetic element (repels magnetic fields). Has one of the lowest thermal conductivity values among metals. Expands upon solidification like ice from water, and can be used to make a tight-fiting casting such as typesetting. Makes an excellent lead substitute due to being non toxic, although you should still wear protection when handling it.

(Picture attached is after melting and pulling crystals)Came in good time and easy to work with. I would recommend ordering more than I did, as a larger volume would make it easier to pull larger crystals.

Came in a thick plastic bag, smaller then I figured 5lb would be volume wise. Fits in the palm of the hand. I recommend getting two, or sizing up a bit. We broke out the hot plate and found an old stainless steel bowl and started making crystals. We ended up pulling some great looking ones after a few tries and a few YouTube videos later. After many uses we were left with some kick ass crystals and a pile of oxidized slag. We saved the crystals and put the slag pile into a kiln to cook off the oxygen then poured off the re-melt into a bar. Very fun to experiment with....but keep in mind, safety stuff, safety stuff.

It arrived mostly in crumbs with a few solid pieces. Lots and lots of “dust” and crumbs do not the large chunks i thoughts I’d receive

Just a hair over 5 pounds, great for making crystals. You get exactly what is advertised. I've bought from this supplier twice now.Edit: The reviews that say the color isn't right, or that it doesn't work are written by people who have no idea what they are doing. This isn't even that difficult of an experiment but you do need to put some effort into learning how to do it properly. They are misleading reviews because it has more to do with people's lack of intelligence and nothing to do with the product.
