I got this to test as a sound barrier underneath my flooring. It does not work for that for me. However, I love the feel of this material. I am not currently sure what else I will use it for, but I think I will leave it on hand for crafts instead. It is very easy to cut.

I ordered this to repair a boat lift pad. I had put on some carpeting as a temporary replacement, but this is more suited for the job. The back of this is a smooth PVC strip with soft carpeting on the other side. This lays down perfectly on the board that I used to replace the old pad that the boat is supported on. This is exactly what I was looking for! I might also use this to line my kayak bottom to give me a little more grip when I'm getting in or out of the boat. Since it's PVC it should dry quickly without concern for holding onto water and smelling.

Replaced old carpet with this new material and its way better than before. The tight fabric and non-cloth backing stapled on way easier and will last much longer. Plus it looks much better and will be easier to slide our flat bottom boat in. Suppose you could use it on deck steps or ladders to get out of the water etc.

I've gotten some disappointingly thin bunk carpet in the past, but this stuff is decently thick, like wool felt.
