I bought this to replace the oem distributor in my 98 Civic DX. I replaced the coil inside because I hot thicker ignition wires. The coil spring was bent and misshapen quite badly. However, everything lined up as it should and does work, I'd replace the coil though if you buy it.

beware!!! the distributor I received had been put together wrong at the factory!!! Pay close attention to the rotor position and the slotted gear on the bottom that goes to the cam. Mine was 180 degrees out... had to figure out why it wouldn't start after the install. after closely comparing the old and the new I realized the drive gear was on 180 out. I had to drive out the roll pin and reinstall it with the correct position.... fired right up.

Works, gaskets of high quality and the plug is exactly the same as oem. What more could you ask for apart from my local postal service not breaking the first one i got during shipping, the timing key was snapped clean off, second one came with additional bubble wrap and arrived in perfect condition.

Purchased this distributor to try to resolve an issue where the car was intermittently cutting out - it did not resolve this issue, and actually got worse over time. We later replaced the crankshaft position sensor - but 15min after fixing that, the car cut out again. We were told the distributor was defective. Pretty disappointed that this brand new distributor is defective.
