She uses it to run down the street to pick up Indian food from our favorite restaurant. It is not electric, so you'll still need to use your legs to self power it. It's a bit small for her (she's 5'10" tall), so this may be a gift for a smaller friend. The wheels are really good and are smooth on both sidewalks and streets. The center bar and handles feel sturdy and don't have any wobble.
