The clean "v" (not segmented) does a much better job at grabbing the pulley without slippage. I saw my alternator voltage waver and suspected my "race only" voltage regulator only to find the pulley was exceedingly hot - meaning friction and likely slipping. Also the old belt was a bit too wide and did not fit all the way in the alternator pulley, which contributed to the problem. Lesson is...stay away from cheap belts and those that have "gator ribbing" on the contact side or inside of the belt!

Great little belt, and is actually a REAL 13 x 46.5 belt unlike all those cross-referenced 15/32 belts that are supposed to work in place of this one. My local parts stores swear they cannot even order this item. Many thanks for selling this on Amazon!!
