This is an attractive hat with 3 sets of adjustable bands (white beads, suede and white shells with blue beads. The hat even has a removable tie for windy days. The elastic inside the hat enables the hat to fit better and adjust to your size. I highly recommend the hat.

I expected this to be sturdier than it is. It's made out of straw so perhaps that should have clued me in. It's extremely rigid. The hat size is large with an elastic band around it to help it fit better. I have a large head and it's a little loose on me. So someone with a small head will find it too large. The hat bands that come with it are cute. Due to the construction and material, it can't be cleaned very well. Overall, I could see wearing this a few times before it would need to be thrown out. I got it for a Western dress-up night so it will work for my purposes but overall, unless you only want it for 3 or 4 wears, skip this one. It does have small loops underneath the rim so you could attach a chin strap to help keep it on but it doesn't come with a chin strap.

This hat is cute and goes with almost anything for so many occasions! It's lightweight and breathable making it very comfortable! The quality materials make for a great fit! Definitely worth the cost!

This hat illustrates tradeoff. Please refer to the image posted of me with my giant dog or the product page image. Note the large holes in the straw weave. These holes are large enough that the hat provides poor sunshade. Wearing this hat and walking with the sun in front of me caused me to lift my hand to form a brim because the sun shone through the hat almost as much as if there wasn’t any hat there at all.The other side is that this hat is the best vented hat I’ve ever worn. I can feel a slight breeze on my head no matter what angle it’s coming from. That’s courtesy of the same large holes that prevent a good sunshade.To me, the lesson of this hat is that one size holes do not work for a whole hat. Ideally, I’d like smaller holes on the brim and top of the hat while these size for the hat body. The large holes on the top of the hat will likely offset the good ventilation provided by the hat’s body.In other news, the hat fits my 59cm head well. My wife grabbed the girly hat bands that I could merrily do without forever but I have to admit they do look good on my wife’s straw hat. They’d look good if she chose to wear one on this hat.In sum, as pleasant as the ventilation is due to the large weave holes, I think they are too big. The hat has insufficient shade protection and the large top holes will likely overcome any ventilation effects on hotter days. That and these large top holes reduce the UV protection a hat’s supposed to offer.

This hat is so cute! It's light weight, keeps the sun out of my eyes, and elevates any look instantly to look a little more western. I love the interchangeable accessories! Such a nice touch.
