Interesting cards that inspire drawings from them. We used these to create pictures in our scout den and had fun with them

I wasn't sure if these cards would be worth the purchase price but I was quite impressed. They seem quite simple but the ideas given really make you think. It is a great way to challenge yourself. Pull a random card and draw whatever it brings to mind. A few of the words are verbs and at first thought I wondered "how the heck do I draw an action?". Well that's it. This challenges you to really think about what to draw. So if you feel like drawing but can't decide what you want to draw, just pick a card, any card...you get the picture.

This is a very simple deck of drawing idea cards. It contains a mixture of objects, people or animals, emotions and actions, and settings or places. You could either draw one card, or multiple cards to make an illustration, and if you wanted you could separate the deck into the different types of cards and pick one of each. There are so many possible ways you could use this set. I would love to see a more advanced set that gives more detail than just a single word or couple of words to describe something. For example, describe an entire scene for the person to draw.My only complaints are that the font is rather small for the amount of space on the card. And then also that the wording is so simple and more like a random collection of words rather than specific drawing ideas. I also wish that the deck was a little more balanced amongst the different types of suggestions.Otherwise, this is pretty decent overall.

I remember this exercise from school, only back then we just wrote our own words on sheets of paper. Same idea, but now much more convenient. The cards are indeed standard playing card sized, and though not coated or anything fancy, they are glossy and feel to be a good sturdy stock. There is very little on each card, which is perfect, not adding distraction to the goal of poking your imagination. The collection of words are mainly physical subjects, but there are a few concepts and drawing techniques thrown in. Everything is appropriate for all ages (I think it's sad that I even have to qualify that, but these days...), mostly mundane, with some fantasy. And I really appreciate that there are no instructions. I don't feel like I have to follow any rules at all. I can create based on 1 card, multiple cards, or build my design one card at a time. And with 72 cards, this would work for solo inspiration or for a whole group.

Total quality created in the style of 72 playing cards with a finished outer coating that is in place to help preserve their longevity and integrity. Set stores up so nice inside a small standard card box and if one didn’t know better- the deck presents itself just like simple playing cards! Bc of the small footprint these are easily used on the go, kept in an art portfolio/supply box.. even stored in ones cupboard when not needed. The gist is, to draw yourself a nicely printed card for inspiration to offer artist a drawing prompt or challenge.. a great idea in theory! These can be a great daily starter for an art class- or have a student draw a card randomly for an art assignment..What these will offer is a non-biased way to assign a topic.. One mayeither find a task totally in their comfort zone or else, completely out of the norm! If used game style with a “must do” type mindset- these help push the envelope for any artist; from beginner novice on up to Picasso! Art is never wrong, therefore.. there is no such thing as creating bad art..I do wish cards included a few suggestive words associated with their prompt that could spark possibilities for a stifled artist. I feel regardless of the info given they’d still allow plenty of individual touches. Only, these a bit tougher- as they offer up a prompt and nothing else! Sold at a higher price point.. these a quality to last. Hoping info helps decision- stay safe everyone.

It's a card set with prompts. My daughter loves to create with art stuffs but she wasn't entirely thrilled with these. She was drawing random cards trying to be creative with it. But the card details weren't brilliant for that purpose. Cowboy, child, musician. That was a set of three. You could use that at random but some of them did not fit well at all. So she tried to keep drawing random cards but found there wasn't a real depth or variety to it.They are ok, you can find some prompts but they are definitely not worth the price you are paying. This was her opinion.

Prompts are a useful thing if you work in or with anything creative. They're a great way to jump-start your process, or to get over a creative block. I've seen worse decks than this, but these could stand to be better. Some of the prompts are fun, silly, or unique enough to spark something new or get you out of your comfort zone. Some of the others are a bit too generic (for my taste, anyway) to be as useful. Another shortcoming is that some of these cards rely on concepts that may not be familiar to less-experienced artists. I know what negative space is, for instance, but if you don't, few things will interrupt your flow like having to put down the pencil/camera/brushes so you can pick up the phone and Google something. This isn't a bad set by any means, but the flaws keep it from being very good, or even great. I hope that whoever's behind these gives a bit more thought to these cards and releases a second edition that gets to its full potential.
