The company (High Five Distributing) that sold me this book put a lot of care making sure it got delivered without being damaged. I appreciated the extra cardboard that was used inside the padded bag. The book has amazing photographs along with written directions and stitch charts. Very pretty lace designs.

An excellent collection of original designs. I've already flagged several I want to make. Kristin never disappoints. Her patterns are gorgeous, easy to understand and turn out beautifully.

This book is indeed so lovely. It's full of gorgeous, lacy pieces, very few of which I wouldn't see myself wearing or attempting to make sometime in the near future. It is NOT a book for beginners but that is actually a refreshing change for those of us who are not beginners and sometimes feel cheated when buying books that are half full of instructions for basic stitches.

While this book has some attractive patterns, it was bound wrong, with pages all mixed up… very frustrating. I also found some pattern mistakes, fear there may be more. What on earth has happened to simple editing and quality control? All the pretty pictures in the world don't make up for inexcusable mistakes. I would return it, but assume I can figure out which pattern pages go together. For one example, page 16 is followed by page 33. Page 17 follows page 48. Page 49 follows page 32.The index at the back has all of 10 entries. Yes, you read that right. 10 things are indexed. There are only rudimentary instructions for making a few stitches, ie. tunisian simple stitch, back post double crochet and two foundation stitches. That's it. So, obviously, unless you're already knowledgable about lace crochet techniques and stitches, you'll be on your own. On the plus side, there are extensive clear international stitch diagrams, so if you know how to read them, they're a real asset, though be sure you're using the right one for your chosen project. The projects are interesting looking, but most will be a challenge, so I'd suggest that beginners look elsewhere to get started with lace. This is a book for intermediate and advanced crocheters. Some reviewers, however, note they've found mistakes in the directions. Read through carefully before getting started.
