Got this for my Jotel fireplace insert to replace the original blower. Works great. Attached a speed modulation dial and the fan moves more air and is far quieter that the original. Happy. Only down side is it was supposed to be the exact size of the original. It is 1 to 1.5 mm bigger so it's a very, very tight fit. (Jotel allowed for 0 variance on the design) Other than that it is wonderful.

Mounted under my Wood Stove to circulate air more efficiently. Used light dimmer to control speed - worked great. After a couple of years had to dismount to lubricate with some good oil. Nice job on this product.

Bought this for my fireplace as a second blower. I had high hope because Dayton fans are usually nice. And was I right. This thing move the air. It also is fairly quiet and smooth. So far I’ve been impressed with this unit. Can’t go wrong!!I’ve had this fan for 2 years now and it’s -20 and this fan is still amazing. It moves so so much more air than the fan that comes with my very expensive wood stove. As you can see in the pics I have it blowing the whole top of my stove. It pull all the heat that would normally not be touched by a fan and throws it where I want it. Absolutely and completely helps on cold winter days!!!

First fan received was damanged in shipment. Notified seller (sent pictures) and a replacement fan was sent - this one was in good shape. Much quieter than the original at less than half the price of the fan that came with the wood stove. Good product.

We have a fireplace insert that came with the house when we bought it. Unfortunately, the optional blower remained optional and was missing. I inquired about getting one and was told the price was $357. After I recovered from the sticker shock I starting searching for a substitute and found this unit. The measurements seemed to line up more or less correctly, so I ordered one. It's pretty good. I doubt the "correct" blower from the stove manufacturer would work any better. There are, however, some drawbacks. The manufacturer's blower comes with a covering grill, for appearance. It also comes with a multi-speed switch and cord with a plug. This blower comes as its naked self, with two stripped wires for connecting to a source of power. I had to buy a cord, a multi-speed motor controller switch, and a suitable electrical box to contain the wiring connections. You do get extra value for that $357.If you're not comfortable doing improvised electrical wiring, or if appearance matters greatly, you would probably be better off with your stove manufacturer's blower. If you can do wiring and can live with an exposed blower (or can make your own cover), however, this unit could save you some money.n.b the instruction sheet that came with the blower said not to use it with any kind of speed control. I did, and after perhaps 50 hours of use it seems to be working fine. Use your own judgment. You almost certainly will want some kind of speed control, however, because full speed is a howling gale. [Edit: Four years later, it's still working fine with the speed control.]

Wanted a less expensive blower instead of the 400.00 factory replacementThis fan is quieter and blows more air, seems to be built better the factory.added a thermo switch and a small shield in front of motor, a speed control inline and it runs great.
