Distributor worked good for about 2 minutes then quit, found the brand new rotor went bad and needed replaced.

Looks and feels quality, installed easily. We shall see about long term, unsure if Delphi is dependable anymore or if the name and licensing were bought by a Chinese corporation

Sure hope the one I received was really made by Delphi. Had a Delphi sticker on the box, but unit was not bagged/wrapped/padded in the box, and there was no Delphi identification anywhere on it. It did work, however, and my check engine light finally went away—for 24 hours. Now I think the IAC valve is shot.

Product came quick and installed really easily. It fixed a misfiring problem I had when my truck was cold. Note: Do not use aftermarket distributor caps because the last one I purchased from Autozone came with the wrong screws and stripped out and cracked the 2 mounting screw holes. I didn't notice it until, due to random misfire issues, I added an OEM cap and realized the aftermarket screws were the wrong size. I'm very happy with this purchase, especially the price compared to around $400 at a dealer.

As I was replacing the 2 screws on the cap to the base, one of the screw holes just shattered. Looks like one of two possible defects. One, it is not brand new and the base of the distributor was old and engine heat had made the plastic brittle. I don't think that was the case, but I suppose it is possible.A more plausible cause is a simple engineering mistake. The screws are made with coarse wood/sheet metal threads and the plastic screw hole is not soft or pliable. So as the screw goes into the hardened brittle plastic, the plastic does not give any and it forces the hole to be widened till it snaps. At this time, I can't afford a better quality distributor. I sent this one back with zero hassle from Amazon and got a replacement. I hope the new one is somehow better and the old one was a fluke. Just be sure to put a dab of lube on the screw and try not to tighten too much. I really never tightened the first one very tight at all, in fact it broke while it still had about another 16th" to go to pull cap tight.**************** UPDATE************************I just unscrewed the screws on the new one. I looked inside the holes and saw plastic shavings. It looks like when you take out the screws, there are shavings left behind because the screws are self tappers. I carefully cleaned out the shavings and put a tiny dab of dielectric grease on the screw and put screws back in. The screws then tightened ok and no breaks or cracks. So I would suggest that you do the same. I am still leaving this as a 1 star because a simple metal insert into the hole with machine screw would fix all this. Delphi should have known this was a bad idea and the fix is not very expensive.********* LAST UPDATE**********The replacement broke as well, just never bothered jumping back on here to update. Amazon was not going to honor refund, but they did honor it when I called and complained. Found one on S-10 Forum for half the price with a metal base. they sell on ebay for between $60ish and $80ish . i have had the metal based one for well over a year now, works just fine.

no problems. works great loved the price considering i purchased separate parts from auto-zone which were more expensive than the whole distributor and was manufactured and didn't work
