Not good for thick fur, although it could do the job. My dog is short hair.

Works great.Brushed cat for 10 mins, and got a kitten sized ball of hair off of her.

I keep seeing the ‘equigroomer’ in online videos as being great for brushing short haired dogs and cats. I didn’t want to spend £25+ on a cat comb though so went for this product instead as it’s a third of the price and I couldn’t be happier. It really works! Five minutes of light combing, helped by some squeeze treats and I’m basically missing half my cat, genuinely surprised he’s not bald with the amount of hair that’s easily come off. This will definitely help his skin and be less hoovering for me. Great value, really effective and easy to use.

My cats LOVE this brush. It desheds very well. I was nervous to buy it because I had previously bought a steam brush. The bristles are silicone…. they hated it. They don’t like me cleaning their ears or clipping their nails without bribing them with treats… lots of treats. But they IMMEDIATELY liked this one, both cats. They are tabby’s. I recommend! Also I expected it to be more hefty material wise, thought it would be mostly metal, it’s not. (Only the brush part.) So it’s lighter than I thought but it’s probably better that way safety wise and doesn’t change how well it works. It’s still durable and I predict it’ll last a while.

I bought this brush for my dogs originally. One is a German shepherd mix and the other has short hair and a pit mix. They both like the brush. I heard it’s best to use short , fast, repetitive strokes with it. I don’t get as much hair off my dogs as with other brushes. My only complaint is that it seems to get full of static. It could just be my house since it’s still cold here and we have the heat on and it makes the air in the house very dry.I was quite amazed that my cat that hates being pet and brushed actually loved this brush! All in all, they all seem to like the brush. I just took one star off because I don’t get as much hair off as I hoped.

I have short haired dogs, Dobermans. One is good with this tool the other hates it. Flinches whe I use it and tries to run away. The other one sits still for grooming with it. I don’t see a lot of shedding with this tool on their hair types. It might be better for animals with just a little longer hair. It is well made and comfortable for me to use. I tried another similar tool, much shorter in length and more expensive. If you want to try this style I would recommend this product.

This brush worked okay on my short-haired cat (as long as I could keep her from trying to rub her teeth and face on the blade), however with my husky, who has 4 shedding seasons lasting about 3 months each, it was a constant repetitive motion of brush, remove small clump of hair. brush the same area again, remove small clump of hair, etc..The description noted in one spot that the brush was soft, and in another that it is made of rust-proof stainless steel, which I don't think is true in either case; the brush blade itself is sort of like a little metal hacksaw blade, painted black, so I don't think that's stainless steel. And the body of the brush is plastic. Also, while the blade is indeed replaceable, a quick search for replacement blades yielded no results for me as of 04.2025.BUT it's not all negatives here.. The brush itself, while mostly plastic and the blade, which arguably could be used to saw apart things like cardboard or soft wood, does have a nice feel in the hand. It's definitely more gentle than those brushes with the pokey metal tines. You just need to be ready to dedicate some serious time to emptying it out after every brush if you have a larger, sheddier animal. The other thing I would say is, even when brushing the cat, it seems like this brush works more on the premise of collecting enough static electricity to let loose fur adhere to the blade and handle, rather than extracting the loose fur via the blade on its own. I don't know if that was intentional or not. It does result in a "gentle" removal of fur, though, which could be considered a plus in some scenarios.I'm rating it 3 stars primarily because while the construction is decent, there were several things to note regarding its composition and performance as compared to the description.

Don’t let the size fool you — this little tool really pulls its weight! It’s super effective at pulling out all that loose, shed fur that would otherwise end up on your couch (or clothes, or car...). The comb is shallow, but it somehow grabs a surprising amount of hair without tugging or irritating my cat. It’s comfy to hold and easy to clean, too.

This little grooming brush doesn't look like much: it's 95% handle and only a little peek of comb at the bottom. However, that's all it needs to be a really effective de-shedding tool for your pets!We have two Alaskan Klee Kai who shed like it's their full-time job. I'm constantly plucking little loose bits of fluff from their coats. With this brush, the loose fur pulls away in literal sheets! You will end up with enough shed fur to make a whole new pet when you're done. Really, it's astonishing how much hair comes out with this tool!Do note that this isn't a typical de-tangling or smoothing brush. It has a little smoothing effect, but it's really made to get out loose hairs that are already shed and still stuck in their coat. It excels at that. It does not seem to pull out any hairs that are still growing, but snags shedding really effectively. I was surprised by how this helps to de-shed even my dogs' dense undercoats, despite having very shallow tines.I've used this style of grooming brush before and always think they work great, but this particular model has a replaceable blade, which is nice for longevity. The handle is plastic with a textured pattern on the rubberized grip to make brushing easy despite the somewhat awkward shape. The only thing I worry about is the rubberized material degrading over time. But so far, so good.Again, this is handier than you think it is, and a great tool in any pet owner's grooming kit. I recommend using this before a bath to work out loose hairs so they don't clog your drain, or in-between regular brushings (with a normal detangling brush) to keep the coat smooth and shiny and to minimize shedding.
