It only lasts about a year or two, and I only drive the van occasionally. Dorman will replace it under a lifetime warranty. If you can change it yourself as needed I guess it's ok. If you have to pay someone to replace it every time it breaks you might not like it. There is no other way to purchase a new one. It is discontinued from GM and it is not made y any other aftermarket manufacturer.

The product was great and works. It wasn't too difficult to install, but you must follow the instructions, especially with positioning the wipers and aligning the unit.I bought the same unit previously and there is an important word of warning. Do NOT engage wipers with a heavy snow load piled on your windshield. REMOVE SNOW FIRST! The other unit broke this way. The little pin and spring system on the bottom of the unit responsible for hiding the wiper blades when off, bend and misaligned. No way to repair this other than replacing the whole unit again ... hence the 4 stars.UPDATE: Lasted for about 18 months! Time to replace it AGAIN! Same problem, the moving parts get more and more slack as they wear. Eventually, the wipers no longer go to their "sleeping" position. Eventually the pin assembly that engages the top plate falls off (or down) and then gets wedged completely into the gear system. Totally toast now. Would love to replace it with a better product, but alas, only this brand remains and is sold everywhere as THE replacement part for the Chevy Venture. At least AMAZON has the lowest price for it.Lowering my review to 2 stars!

It was identical to the old one. The only problem I had was mounting the control arm to the wiper motor. I could not get the wiper blades in the park position. I followed the instructions and installation method to a T. Even with that and watching a few videos I was not able to get it to work. Very frustrating.

Dorman is a familiar name in auto parts and I can’t recall having any problems with them. This unit just happened to be defective. Once I get my account refunded, I’ll order another one.

Metal transmission was a good fit and worked perfectly. Plastic dust cover was damaged and not usable. I'm sure this will limit the life of the transmission but it will probably last as long as the vehicle.

The parts looks physically different than the original part. The part was installed and is working as expected. The part arrived with the instruction, a very detailed instruction. You can find instruction on installation procedureson youtube.com. The instructions included in the box follows exactly the instruction found in youtube, but not all.Few pointers in installation / instruction.1) The wiper arms must be removed. There is no reason to remove the wiper fluid hoses. Just lay the arms on engine bay.2) Remove the transmission. The wiper transmission is the part of this review.3) Turn the wiper using delay and stop the motion and take out the key once the motion stops (i.e. stop delay position).4) Insert the transmission. The position of the arm should be about 2 o'clock position looking from the front on car.5) The Torx screw must be inserted and torqued as specified. To do so, the instruction suggest use of C-clamp to applythe required torque. I did not have to use c-clamp, and so far after 2-weeks through snow and freezing rain it is fine.6) Position the wiper arms to best coverage as desired, then torque down the nuts (metric thread). The replacement part is not the same appearance as the original part. But, it appears to work just fine.
