#1. I had to use a dremel tool with a metal cutter wheel to get two retainer clips (doubled up) off one side as to fit through the mounting hole of my 96 ford escort. I then had to cut a notch in the spindal shaft using a hacksaw to make a place for a Flat/External retainer clip that would hold the wiper assembly together. This mod may not have been nessary once i realized i had to widen the mounting hold on my car anyway.#2. I had to use a dremal tool with a grinding stone wheel to widen the mounting hole on my car so this wiper assembly would fit were it's bolted on. I measured with a caliper and it was a good bit wider than the one that came out of the car.#3. After i finally got the assembly situtated correctly and mounted and bolted back in, i tried to connect the wiper assembly arm onto the wiper motor's shaft and it wasn't going to fit. I didn't want to force it and risk breaking a $99 part. So i had to take it all back apart and out of the car to test fit the connection on my work bench. Turns out the wiper assembly arm connection fitting hole was a much tighter tolerance and so i had to use a dremal tool to very carefully widen the hole out so it would connect to the wiper motor arm spindal.I did finally get this wiper assembly mounted in my car but not without a dremal tool, a trip to Harbor Freight to buy a box of external retainer clips, a retainer clip tool, and a hacksaw. I also used a lot of other basic tools and supplies to get this to work. Not sure why i had so many fittment issues with this part for my my 96 ford escort. If this part is recommened for my car, i shouldn't have to do all these moddifications just to get everything mounted and connected. A job that should be done in about 2 hrs or less ended up taking the whole weekend.

Not one but 2 10mm bolts twisted off with ease. Couldn't even tighten down all the way. Have to take it back out and install another. Also, the wiper spindle seats were too big. I had to drill bigger holes in car. I'm extremely disappointed and wasted hours of time. Now I have to repackage this piece of crap and waste my time sending it back. Not cool
