I replaced both axles just because. they fit well and seem to be made of some durable materials with apropriate heat treating. I put these in my 2000 F150 with 4.2 V6 with nearly 300k miles on the old ones. One old axle started to show signs of wear while relacing bearings. these were such a good value I just had to go for it and replace the axles. Obviously time will tell how well they are made, yet fit, form and function are perfect.
