I wanted to paint these with high-heat paint before installing, but got in a time crunch and didn't. I really wish that I had. Within a couple of weeks, these were showing rust on the top and after a while, this spread to other parts. I would take them off now and paint them, but they are a real pain to get to. I might try to paint them while installed. Very disappointed in the quality of the finish.Otherwise, they fit great and the supplied hardware worked perfectly with my truck.

Dorman used to be a GREAT product, now not so much. First of all it came with only 2 bolts, and i was thinking it came with all the mounting bolt for the head and it should! Dorman always used to have COMPLETE kits and now like everyone else they have cheaped out! The other problem i had with these this time was the flange mounting bolt holes were no true to a 90 and so when i went to put the flange on the pipe it would not fit in the holes they were to narrow, in other words instead of being parllel and 90 square to flange they were pointing inwards towards each other. Of course i was able to fix them with a large cheater pipe. Point being though i am a professional, and to some one trying to do this on their own to save money, they are going to be in trouble and Mad as Hell!! Further more for any of you DIY guys you need to be aware of what it takes on an older truck to do these. I was nearly 10 hrs on this truck, with a welder, a torch, many extra nuts and much frustration!!! Having issues with the new part and not a complete kit only adds to the frustration and disappointment. Dorman really needs to do a quality check or else get out of the business!! They were NEVER like this.

The gasket match on this side (Drivers) needed some work. About a half hour with a Dremel tool cleaned it up nicely. Overall finish was not as nice as the left side but was usable. Fit was good. Treads on collector flange were poor. Running a tap into them will correct problem. You will probably twist the studs off if you do not re-tap the treads.
