This is the XL and they mean it about the size of a Nike shoe box

The box is first and of good quality. The description was poor. The description did not state it had a glued in, rubber liner. I got it to use as a cigar humidor and the liner created a problem as it had an odor.

Realize these dimensions are the very outside features and not the compartment. It's a little smaller than I wanted, but its a really nice box.
