Based on the original Carbon-Z Cub, it's equipped with an abundance of new convenience, capability and flight performance-improving features. An updated wing design with drooped tips adds wing and aileron area for significantly improved slow speed handling, performance and control. The modified flap design allows them to travel both ways for full-span aileron and other mixing options, and thumbscrews make it easier to install and remove the two-piece wing without tools.
Articulated and shock-absorbing landing gear, equipped with even larger oversized tundra-style wheels with softer tires, offers better ground handling that soaks up the bumps of rough surfaces. The push-button released, top-mounted hatch offers convenient and easy access to the battery compartment – which now holds a quick-release, multi-position battery mounting tray that fits 4S to 6S 3200–7000mAh batteries. An improved motor design featuring an additional bearing, plus a propeller molded from material that better maintains balance and stiffness, results in smoother and more reliable power system performance. The composite-reinforced, hollow-core airframe arrives mostly factory-finished and assembled, and the installed digital, metal-geared servos with ball-link equipped linkages deliver crisp and precise control.

Even with its giant-scale 84"/2.1m wingspan, the Carbon-Z Cub SS is easy to store and transport because of the two-piece wing. And now it's more convenient than ever because no tools are required for field assembly/disassembly with the new thumbscrews. There are even decorative gas caps and antennas that snap onto the thumbscrews for added scale detail.

The new articulated and shock-absorbing landing gear, which is equipped with even larger oversized tundra-style wheels with softer tires, offers better ground handling that easily soaks up the bumps of rough surfaces. This Plane comes in a large, poorly packaged box from the manufacturer, and not a single fragile sticker to be found, thus resulting in poor handling during shipping, box was crushed and had 13 holes in it, not quite sure how that would happen but as you can imagine it wasn't great for a plane made mostly of epo foam. Had to jump through a lot of hoops to get this big box returned. Was a lot to the story, but despite meeting the guidelines lines the censors would not post it because it made them look bad.

This thing is absolutely crazy with a 6s battery. It can be a large trainer or fly the sweetest acrobatics, hover, flip and because of its size it doesn't care about the wind. I am super impressed with it and have since bought it's little brother. Still waiting for the out of stock floats......horizon! Fly with safe mode or not, it's a pleasure.

Sure, the RC Aircraft is big and beautiful, but that's where it ends. My first problem had to do with the battery tray, it wouldn't' latch into position until I removed the base assembly and modified it.My second problem is with the battery compartment size itself, and the length of the ESC connector wire, it is impossible connect the battery to the esc without causing damage to the fuselage.I feel now this is the dumbest purchase I've ever made, I mean $500 for a piece of foam, and no technical support from the supplier.The instructions are poorly written and out of order.Good Luck, hope this helps someoneThe vortex generators have now fallen off of the model, just something else for you to take into consideration with this product.

This thing is awesome but don't buy it as a first plane. It has been so frustrating and I still have not gotten set up a way I like. (Using tx16-s). Missing a lot of features without getting a spectrum controller so ill have to do that as im not savvy enough to get everything to work right like SAFE. Beautiful and well built. Has survived many crashes...

If they would have changed the way the struts attached, I would have given a perfect 5 stars. It flies amazing. Really great plane. I would recommend it anyone except a beginner because it's not cheap.

Very well built! I have been buying RC airplanes for a long time. This is the best built and flies better than any other I have had. Always a good buy from Horizon. Only thing I did was immediately removed the receiver (AR637TA) and replaced it with an AR635B.
