Installed this in my home office so that I could run two laptops over ethernet as the Wi-Fi is fairly week on that side of the house. I have 1 gbps internet and normally see 800 mbps downloads and 300 mbps uploads. This device will obviously downgrade your speeds to 100 mbps. I did not do a simultaneous test with multiple devices but I imagine the speeds would be impacted.I knew to expect a speed drop before installing it. 100 mbps is fine for the majority of my work over a VPN. I would not recommend the device for a gaming or streaming setup. For work, the device should work fine for most needs.Installation was as easy as plugging in the hardwired USB connection and locating two additional ethernet cables to run to both laptops. No additional configuration was required on my Ubiquiti network.

This is a standard network switch that is 10/100 that has 3 ports. It works and it gets the job done. But you will be limited to 10/100. The fact that it is USB powered is neat for a small form factor. Such as in a pinch and limited wall jack space for power. But for most situations, I would recommend finding a 5 port TPLINK or some other brand 10/100/1000 MB Switch. This little guy should provide better latency then putting on device on wireless and one on wired connection. Unless you have WIFI 6E or WIFI 7 based APs, then this thing is kind of worthless. Again your talking about a specific use case.

Pros:Works for Computer networkingCons:Not compatible with non computer RJ45 devicesI have a Renogy Solar charger that uses an RJ45 connection to connect either a Bluetooth module or an LCD screen. Both are used to convey information about the statue of your batteries and Solar panels. I was hoping that since it's an RJ45 port that this splitter would work to allow me to connect both. But it did not. That's no fault of this splitter, it is designed for splitting computer networking. But I thought it would be good for people to know that just because your device happens to use RJ45 to connect peripherals this device can't necessarily allow you to connect 2 of those devices.Use this to split your home ethernet cables, and it works great.
