About this item

  • Tumbling Composter – Avoid digging and mixing your compost pile by hand. The tumbling design makes mixing easy and efficient. Just close the door and turn it 5-6 times every 2-3 days. In hot sunny conditions and with a proper balance of ingredients the compost can finish in as little as 2 weeks. WHEEL KIT – Make your stationary composter mobile with wheels, stability feet, and a handle. Move your composter to where you need the compost instead of moving it with buckets or a wheel barrel.
  • Easy To Use – Fantastic for beginners! The large openings and removable door make it easy to add scraps/clippings and remove finished compost. Deep fins on the body provide great ergonomic handholds.
  • Two Composter Chambers Are Better Than One – Two separate sides allow the first side to finish while leaving the second side available to add fresh scraps/clippings. Continuously swapping sides after finishing will create an uninterrupted flow of rich, healthy compost. Total capacity 37 gallons (5 cu ft)
  • Excellent Aeration – All our composter models feature aeration holes as well as deep fins to break up clumps inside the chamber and mix lots of oxygen into the compost. Tumbling composters allow far greater aeration than standard models.
  • Durable Construction – Made in Canada from BPA-free, UV-inhibited, 100% post-consumer recycled polypropylene. The painted galvanized steel frame is corrosion resistant and will look great for years.

For a quick compost turnaround, look to the HOTFROG Mobile Dual Chamber Compost Tumbler. This bin's efficient dual-chamber design allows for quick curing, turning your kitchen and yard waste into food for your soil. Fill it up, give it a turn every other day with the built-in handholds, and in a fortnight you'll have a hefty, nourishing batch of compost for your garden. The HOTFROG Tumbling Composter also comes with a wheel kit to allow you to roll the composter around your yard. Constructed of recycled, UV-inhibited, heat-absorbing black plastic.

First off, it’s works as advertised. It is a small rotating composter. It has 2 chambers and is easy to move. BUT…..The handle on the side in the pictures is NOT for stopping drum rotation, it’s just a handle. Secondly, when it was shipped, quality control did not check to be sure all hardware and pieces were in it. I had to contact seller and request the wheel mounts and foot mounts with missing hardware. So it only got 4 stars in my book.It rotates no problem and has 2 chambers with aeration but no pin to stop rotation.

It was a bit of a bear to assemble, but I got through it and when I completed it, I was very impressed with the quality of this item. My wife loved it too!

Overall, I really liked this product! I loved having one side “brewing” while I put scraps in the other side. It is only good for a small family, because the bins are not very large. Be sure to turn it every day! I added worms, and it worked beautifully.Only negative was the wheels were REALLY cheap and unsteady and broke within a few months. It wobbled because I didn’t bother breaking off the remaining wheel parts. Only important when you are trying to move it, obviously, but still a little disappointing.I moved and didn’t want to deal with the mess of moving it with us, so I gave it away to my adorable teenage neighbor who will be a world-renown botanist, I am sure!I will buy another one, but the bins will be larger.

I genuinely love using this compost bin. Its my first time composting and it works as intended. Assembly was really easy and its very durable. The only thing I did not do was screw in the last bolts on the feet bars and the wheel bars which I will do soon because those flop around when I spin the bin as my mom says.

took WAY longer to put togetherpicture is somewhat misleading - thought there was a handle to turn and there is not, so for some one physically challenged it may be difficult to tumble. Won't know until full.

Love this compost bin. Takes a while to put together. The directions are not the best, but no more turning compost piles is worth it. I like the reversable door so you remember which side to put scraps in. The wheels are handy for moving it around. Reasonable price too.

Installation was fairly simple using the instructions from the company's website. The screws were standard material, not soft, putty-like as mentioned in another review. After one week the barrel id doing a great job of heating the compostable material. Its fairly sturdy plastic but since it's outside in the hot Texas sun, I don't expect it will last forever. I haven't noticed rats yet which was the issue with my on-ground pile.

opened the box, took out all the pieces, checked the inventory list, all o.k. put the frame together THEN set the whole thing aside for a week............was suprisingly easy to put together when i finally did get back to it. i put it together in my living room. should have taken it outside to put on the wheels because the wheels made it difficult to get out the patio door. still not sure how i did it. anyway, it is now in a full sun location and has the first batch of stuff in it. the feet (NOT the wheels) turn over with little effort. think the plastic against the metal slippery. even with screws as tight as i could get them, the feet still turned over a bit when getting composter in place. i think it will be fine since i don't plan to move it around a lot. also, noticed the sliding door on top moves over a bit when spinning. not much movement, about 1/4 to 1/2 inch. i just push it back in place. it is cute, colorful, will see how it works. i do like it. i did also buy some compost starter, haven't put that in yet. glad i bought it.after a couple of months, i may be back to update. it is lightweight. really like the way the indentations are in every panel. great for spinning. give it a try. one person can put it together although may go easier with two.
