This should be a lesson to me to read the reviews first... it's much cheaper than the Vitavon part for a reason. Will not accept a fifth scale servo without alterations.. (but still cheaper than paying 130 bucks)

This is not made for power hobbies or other 1/5 scale servos. I ordered it hoping for more steering support with my upgraded servo, but it only fits the spectrum garbage servo. π

As others have noted, this servo tray needs quite a bit of modification to make any 1/5 or 1/6 scale servo work. The current mounting position, intended for or a 1/6 scale servo like the stock Spektrum S905, is too far back and messes with steering link geometry and basically makes this mount useless. That said, if you're handy and don't mind some cutting, drilling, and tapping, this is a good way to save $100+ over the Vitavon servo tray. Once modified, it should look very similar to the V1 Vitavon ESC tray and servo mount. It works great and helps add much-needed rigidity to the front end while properly securing the servo. For reference, I was using a 150KG 1/5 scale DSServo 10-12.6V servo with an RX bypass harness and a direct power JST plug. Here's what I needed to modify to make it work:1) Purchase the $11 Vitavon CNC 7075 SC6 Servo Mount (or similar). Using this adaptor will allow you to use either a 1/6 or 1/5 scale servo. I liked the flexibility of being able to run either if I got into a pinch.2) Cut 5mm off the top of the rear mounting posts. This will allow the Vitavon servo mount to be installed on top of these posts and will keep the servo level.3) Then, using the existing holes as guides, drill/tap with M4x0.7 or M3x0.5 threads. I drilled all the way through the mount to ensure enough thread engagement and upsized my hardware to M4x0.7 for added strength.4) Cut off the front two servo mounting tabs, leaving them flush with the front crossmember. You will want the tabs of the servo to hang over the front crossmember.5) Install 1/6 or 1/5 servo of your choice, using the rear two servo mounting holes and the adjustable Vitavon adaptor you purchased separately. Slide the servo forward until its mounting holes are centered over the front crossmember. This will give you the location of the final two holes that will need to be drilled/tapped.6) Drill two holes through the front crossmember and tap with M4x0.7 or M3x0.5. Again, I opted for M4x0.7.7) Install hardware and use blue thread locker throughout.8) Go drive and enjoy!

Canβt use for different size servos like the stock tray. Sure would be nice to know ahead of time. Had to cut off the 2 legs, drill and tap new holes for my 1/5 scale servo to fit.
