Any standard terry cloth rag is then used to rub and polish the fingerboard and frets simultaneously. Depending on the amount per use, we are experiencing multiple cleanings per single unit! Shines the frets like mirrors and conditions the fretboard

I had been using a similar product to clean and condition my fret boards and wires. That product required a decent amount of elbow grease to work. I saw adds for Fret Butter and liked the way that it looked nearly effortless to use. It was. It goes on easy, cleans well and polished my fret wires like new. After, I used a clean cloth to remove any residue and left 2 newly strung guitars for a day or so before playing. When I did, my finger tips turned black (unlike the product I had been using). I'm not totally sold on making this change permanent. When I clean and polish, I don't like finding that much left over afterwards. Try it and see for yourself.

I had a Jackson PS-7 that has been sitting in my garage for 18 years. The fret board had a couple years of grime on it and the frets were tarnished. This stuff removed the tarnish and got rid of the grime. I would definitely buy this again.

I must have mis-read the description. I thought I was buying something to clean my strings between changes so my bad I guess. However, I took the time to read about how to use this stuff and frankly, it sounds scary. The fact that it covers your fretboard in black gunk that you have to wipe off (and hope you get it all) makes me nervous. I've had some experience with metal cleaners that do that and they're very corrosive. I don't know if this is or not but I'm not willing to risk some very expensive guitars to find out. Maybe others have had great experiences but it's a "no" for me.

Best cleaner... it does EXACTLY what you want it to do. This is the fretboard cleaner / hydrator that all others wish they could be. Love it.
