The dark color absorbs heat from the sun, warming the soil so you can plant earlier. Made from natural cellulose fibers from wood pulp, it breaks down after one growing season, enriching the soil with organic matter. OMRI-listed for certified organic growing.

Used this weed block last season. Surprisingly lasted the entire summer here in the northeastern US. In the fall, after we removed the plants, we worked it into the raised beds with some compost. It kept weeds down well all summer. Not sure how much rain gets through. We watered often because of drought here. I like that it's not plastic. We garden organically, and I'm glad that its OMNI certified.

This really helps with stopping the weed growth without adding non organic materials to the soil.

This product is easy to lay and durable! Stays put! Even when you shovel directly into it it only tears where your metal hits! Not a weed in sight and been two weeks- watered every day, walked on every day- perfect. Do not hesitate amazing! Will never get sent without it again!

Tried to use on my raised beds, but the water just runs off the top. Took it all off and tossed it.

Grass is growing right through weed block and several inches of mulch.

One of the best buys I bought for my veggie garden. Was so sick of weeding all the time and even as it started to slowly compost throughout the season, it did it's job. By next spring it was all composted into the soil.

Although one would think it not sturdy enough to hold up, it really does a fine job, is hassle-free, and economical. What's not to love?
