We've been using a Mason jar for storing garlic on the kitchen counter, but let's face it, garlic is a bit homely to look at. The color on this is as nice as the product photos. What's hard to gauge from product photos, however, is its size. It's bigger than expected! I can probably fit about 7-8 average sized garlic heads in there. (I'm using Trader Joe's garlic, not jumbo Costo garlic, haha.) The ceramic is thick and feels sturdy.The lid has a ring of silicone around it to seal it into place, but I'm ambivalent about it. One the one hand it's unnecessary because the container ventilated, so the lid doesn't need to seal. It actually takes two hands to pry the lid off just to get the garlic I need. When cooking, you want to be able to grab it one-handed and go. On the other hand it does keep the lid secured, so if you knock it over or carry it around, the lid won't fall off.

I was tired of having cloves of garlic sitting loose in my spice cabinet so I got this product to help get organized. Overall the garlic holder is large enough to hold about 3-4 cloves of garlic and I was also able to get some ginger in here as well. I love the design and the pop of color is a great addition to my kitchen.
