My son is enjoying this guitar footrest. He is an avid guitar player and has always rested his foot on the base of his task chair when he plays. This footrest provides better posture relieving tension from his back and hip. I read that it helps with better blood circulation in one's leg. With what it helps with, and its solid workmanship, this is a great deal at the sellers price point.

This is great for my home studio. It makes playing more comfortable; I used to contort a bit on my office chair/desk, but this makes a lot more sense. It is well-built, so no worries about leaning into it. The assembly was easy, too. Not sure if it makes my guitar playing any better, but it's certainly more fun :)

I'm a newer guitar player, and have a bit of a smaller frame, so wrapping myself all the way around my dreadnaught comfortably takes some effort. I didn't even know that footrests like this existed until I stumbled on this one, but it's been great! I had been practicing on the stairs at my house because it allowed me to fold myself up into a position that was comfortable, but this is so much better! It does, true to description, fold up tiny and fit in my gig bag so I can store it right on board with the guitar. It's made practice a lot easier and relieved some of the awkward discomfort of folding my body into weird positions to try to play. I may get more used to that with time, but as a beginner this is a really helpful tool!

I started classical guitar lessons in 2001. This footstool was one of the first things our instructor told us to buy. The (right-handed) classical guitar player elevates their left leg on the footstool so the main body of the guitar rests in the space between their thighs. Over the years and two moves, my footstool disappeared somewhere. Recently, I've brought out my guitar with the intention of brushing up on my playing. I was delighted to find this footstool on offer and immediately ordered it. It really takes me back to my beginning guitar days. Playing any instrument is a physical activity and it's important to pay attention to positioning and posture. It's not exactly like riding a bicycle, but it feels good that my muscle memory hasn't completely disappeared.

I have another foot rest that I purchased from a local music store several years ago, but this one has features my former one doesn't. I am short, and depending on what kind of chair I am sitting on, I have trouble with positioning a leg at just the right angle to the floor. Whether using for my guitar, or for sitting at my computer or sewing machine, my left leg continually gets fatigued when sitting too long ... a result of incorrect ratios from chair to floor and posture, etc. This is going to be great for alleviating strain on the leg, and the rubberized grip will allow me to play, read, or sew 'barefoot' as I like.Great product for me, and a very reasonable price point for making daily pursuits more manageable.

This foot rest from Gator is made for a practice or performing. It feels heavy duty and well made. There are many adjustments to achieve the height needed. It does slope - like when I place my foot on it standing - my toes go up hill. This prevents it from being used as easily sideways. The frame and legs look and feel like metal. The top has a rubber or silicone mat with gripper stripes. The mat keeps my foot solid on the lift. The only concern I see with longevity and it is a small concern, is that the stopping points - the part on the back that is used to determine the height, looks like it is made of a polymer or plastic rather than metal like the rest of the product. If it is used as intended, I cannot imagine breaking this part. If someone tries to put most of their weight forward on the footrest, it may test this part to its limits.

Buy it if you need a small portable footrest.Very will built and sturdy footrest on its lower settings. On its highest setting the scissor arms center of gravity is toward one side making it a little tipsy (1-start off).

Although I play a string instrument, I didn't buy this foot rest for that purpose. I'm using it under my sit/stand desk that's kept in a "permanently stand" state. It allows me to change my posture and maintain good blood flow by alternating between the foot rest and the fatigue pad under it on the ground. I've used one on the left side for about 5 years, and this is now positioned on the right side. The build quality is awesome! It's heavy and sturdy... especially compared to the one that I currently have. There are 5 different height adjustments, which I tend to use the highest and the one below that... Even at the highest setting, it's very sturdy and doesn't tip over. The rubberized pad is great for giving me some traction, and the rubber pads (4 of them) on the legs prevent it from moving around.id try it as well while playing, since that's where it's supposed to be used, and it performed great without sliding around. Really nice foot rest. Highly recommended!
