My DVR unit was having issues and found it was the power plug. It was a cheap wall wart so I wanted something of better quality. This is great, and operates cool while in use. I only needed 2amp and being a 5amp so it works without issue and isnt operating at max 24/7 so it should last much longer than the other one.

Make sure you have the correct Voltage and wattage for your use.Comes with a wire adapter if you want to connect to a controller, or feed directly to the LED strip if equipped with the right connector.Does what it supposed to do!

So my internet went out. I live sort of in the sticks in one of the most outlying suburbs of DFW (when we moved here our biggest road was a two lane state highway). Internet choices were either a hotspot or a Satellite modem (this all pre star link days), but we had our local option which is a guy in our neighborhood who paid to have a fiber line ran to his house and he’s got a 200’ tower in the back yard with RF links. He furnishes our little town and several of those around us with internet.Unlike most ISP’s you can call the guy at 10PM on a sunday and he’ll spend as long as it takes on the phone with you to get you sorted out. Lots to be said for that.So after a bunch of different diagnostics we found that the router (A Ubiquiti security gateway appliance) was only reporting to the radio a 10MB half duplex connection, which is really odd. I pulled an Edge router out of a lighting control rack as a stopgap.I’d measured the existing supply with a VOM and it was reading 12.2V, yet the router would keep powering up with only the console light blinking. When I put the meter inline to measure the current draw that’s when I saw what was supposed to be 12V swinging between 4 & 7V. So the supply was measuring fine, until you put any kind of load on it and then the wierd oscillation swings would happen.The router needs a 12V 1.5A supply and all the wall warts I have at 1.0 or 0.5 so those werent’ going to work.I figured it’d probably be a good idea to get one that had a bit of headroom, and so that’s how I landed on this one.The supply is an actual brick, not a wall wart (always a plus when this stuff has to go into a UPS with a bunch of other stuff), seems solidly built, has a decent grade unpluggable 120VAC into the brick.The barrel end was listed as 2.1 or 2.5mm (the router plug is 2.1) so there was a little roll of the dice as to how well it’d grip a 2.1mm barrel, but the connector has spring contacts on it so it’s holding on just fine.Oddly the 120V AC cord going into the brick barely stays in place (it pulls out super easy), so interestingly the barrel end holds on better than the 120V end does. Minor nit (and I’ll lash the brick down with wire ties to preclude that happening in the future).But for an emergency replacement of a failed OEM supply? It’ll do just fine.It meters out as 12.4 V unloaded and 12.2 under a 1.5A load, so it’s just fine under load and doesn’t have the voltage sag you’d see with a wall wart.My router is back up and doing it’s thing and it looks like this replacement supply will probably last the lifetime of the router, unlike the OEM original which I’ve since found on the Ubiquiti forums is apparently massively failure prone, and the single leading cause of the USG’s failures.

I had an electrician wire in some LED lighting above and underneath my cabinets in my kitchen. They were running off the original power supply that has died. This power supply was nearly exactly the same as my old one, and the connector connected properly with my old strip. Once plugged in my lights came back on immediately. Success! I am happy with this LED light power supply!

Works well and is long enough to comfortably reach a power outlet without having to move thing around. Still works like a charm even after being in use more than half the day.
