My Mom was an avid knitter and crocheted, but, never used one of these holders. I’ve taken up knitting over the past couple of years and got used to stashing the yarn in a tote. But, I was interested in how one of these would work. The spindle hangs by a strong magnet to the frame, allowing it to spin freely. While this holder needs a stable surface, I can see having it next to my favorite chair by the hearth as I work on a project while watching a program on TV, and it’s nice looking enough to leave out in plain view.Perhaps your favorite knitter/crocheter would love one!

This is a super cool little yarn spool and I love it. It requires assembly but it’s just two screws and they include a small screwdriver. Very easy to put together.I put this small skein of fingering weight on here because my current WIP is multi stranded. I can’t wait to use this when I’m using just one color. It’s possible you could put two on here because it’s quite big and the arm being curved allows plenty of clearance for bigger yarns or two smaller yarns.I have a yarn bowl and it’s great but with bigger balls of yarn, cakes, or even skeins it doesn’t come out as smoothly as I would like. Most of the time my yarn will roll right off the couch and fall onto the floor. The coolest feature is that it’s magnetic and floats which allows it to unwind smoothly. If you’re looking for a gift for a knitter or crocheter this is it.
Howe's it going?

This is not only beautiful to look at and easy to put together (I now have a mini screwdriver in my knitting and crochet tools) but the magnet that holds the rod is strong and spins freely. I have two skeins of caked fingering weight wool blend yarn hanging in the picture. I haven't tried this with worsted or bulky, but I hardly ever work with those. However, I think it would probably hold smaller cakes of heavier yarn. The nice thing is that there is a very wide space between the rod and the curved spine, so you could put a pretty fat cake on this. You would be limited both with width and height but still could get quite a bit of yarn on this. I love it.

How many countless hours did I spend crocheting with the ball of yarn oddly tucked either between my legs or squished between my hip and the couch, how many times did I curse the yarn gods when said ball of yarn flew to the floor and rolled across the room, and how many times did I have to fight with the string that was clearly being held hostage inside the yarn ball to release WHEN ALL ALONG THERE ARE YARN HOLDERS (that aren't just a freaking bowl with a hook)!? This makes life so much easier. 10/10

I LOVE this yarn holder. I can put my yarn on it and just knit away without having to worry about my yarn rolling all over everywhere. It spins very well. However, sometimes, you have to nudge it to get going again. A lot of that depends on the actual yarn. This has become my recommended knitting extra item. Sure, you don't need it. . . but having it makes knitting so much more enjoyable. Also, with this I can knit while doing other things like watching TV, zoom meetings, etc.

10/10 recommendation for this yarn ball holder - no cons and only have pros to list:- The yarn holder attaches to the stand magnetically and even when my cat pushes on it, it doesn't disconnect. The magnet is strong enough to withstand use and light enough that it's easy to disconnect to replace the yarn.- This holder helps me with my tension. So much that I cannot use my tension ring when using this yarn ball holder because then it's too tight. I think this helps provide the perfect amount of tension for me. If you're a tight knitter already you may just need to adjust where you position the yarn bolder holder in order to reduce tension from the device.

I’m a crochet and a knitter. This magnetic yarn holder/spinner works well for both. This yarn spinner is so easy to put together. The magnet is extremely strong and took the screwdriver out of my hand. The wood color is beautiful and it has a very nice look to it on my desk. It works great. The skeins of yarn of fit perfectly and move freely without hesitation. I could leave it on my desk while I’m crocheting and it just spins around as I need it. It would make a great as a gift for a crochet or knitter! Awesome product.
