If your somewhat intuitive the install is a breeze. The function and fit are perfect but the directions are worthless.

Installed in about 30 minutes. Agree with others about the instructions. Amazon’s product photos actually aided more. With a little mechanical skill the installation was a breeze. They function great and actually put a little tension on the hood latches which I like. Very strong and the open is open wider with tgw shocks vs the prop rod.

Super easy to install. This is absolutely the best. No more flimsy little stick to hold up hood. Just pop the hood and up it goes - and stays. Thirty minutes to install.

Assembly was moderately simple. I bought this because the engineering looked more sound. The struts aren’t the smoothest but okay. Before you install depress the struts 7-10 times to “activate them”. Trying to do this after install takes way more force and stress the setup.

Wont work if you have an aev style snorkel (ones that require a cutout in the bonnet). I tried running only one on one side - yes it was strong enough to hold the bonnet open on its own - but that lead to the second issue where it was so strong it was twisting the bonnet and in the end I wasn't able to use them at all.

It's been such a pain to wrestle with keeping the hood up, wrestling with the little support arm while I am trying to climb on the bumper to be tall enough anyway. This kit was easy to install, didn't require any modifications, and works like a champ pushing and holding the hood up. I don't know why this isn't a factory upgrade, but cheap and easy for you. If you're looking, just get it and install it - you'll be glad you did.Note - it does spring the hood up when it's just latched at the radiator without the side clamps, which is actually a nice safety feature so you don't get on the highway only to find that you didn't properly secure everything from working in their earlier. Good stuff!
