Brushed aluminum dial features an applied circular, brushed aluminum numeral ring with black roman numerals and hour markers; satin silver center; and glass crystal. A unique, revolving pendulum is located under the dial and finished in a polished silver-tone. Quartz, battery-operated movement plays Westminster chimes on the hour and features volume control. Requires two AA and two C sized batteries. Battery not included. Available in brushed aluminum finish. Measures 11-3/4-inch height by 8-3/4-inch width by 5-3/4-inch depth. This clock is unusual: modern, nice wood and metal tones. Most mantle clocks are very traditional. Battery operated. But, beneath the surface is a lot of plastic. The chime tones on the top of the hour - but only the Westminster prelude. It quite disappointingly, does NOT chime the actual hour so have actual clue what time it really is. This is stupid as microtechnology costing pennies could play dozens of things or even other chime tunes. The works are reminiscent of a cheap travel alarm clock. From a distance it looks beautiful but up close it’s no $250 heirloom… very disappointing. Returned it.

Its a beautiful clock. We gave it as a wedding present. Looked like it was well made. My brother and his new wife seem to like it as well. Howard Miller makes very good clocks.
